AR/CO & Don Diablo Team Up For New Track Solar Eclipse

by | Sep 28, 2024

In 2021 the psychedelic dance duo AR/CO joined up with the visionary multi-platinum artist and producer Don Diablo for their first collab with the single Hot Air Balloon. It exceeded 100 million streams and remains not only AR/CO’s most streamed track, but amongst Don Diablo’s biggest. Now the two forces – who command a shared total of 11.6 million monthly listeners at Spotify – reignite that magic with the long-awaited follow-up Solar Eclipse.

Solar Eclipse represents a vibrant synthesis between the duo’s individual talents. AR/CO bring their hook-heavy, life-affirming euphoria to the mix alongside their love of futuristic desert rave imagery. Meanwhile, Don Diablo elevates their energy with his ear for insistent and innovative production with huge crossover appeal, setting up Solar Eclipse is to make an even bigger impact.

AR/CO explain: “Solar Eclipse felt like a straight groover and Don knows all about keeping a record fresh and laid back. It’s cool to collaborate again together, he’s always down to shift things into a world of his own sonically. It’s a natural synergy when our two worlds collide! After how loved Hot Air Balloon has become, we knew we wanted to do another song when the timing was right. Solar Eclipse is late warm nights, long drives and dancing with the people you love.”

Don Diablo adds: “It’s been such a joy to see AR/CO grow from the start. Something magical happens whenever we put our heads together and I am super happy to finally have a big follow up to Hot Air Balloon which is still gaining so much momentum three years after its release!”

Mali-Koa and Leo Stannard formed AR/CO while dreaming of raves pulsating with life, love and liberations in the middle of lockdown. They’ve since become globally in-demand collaborators with tracks and/or co-writes alongside The Stickmen Project, Franky Wah, Sub Focus, Tiёsto, Kx5, 220 KID, Hayden James, Will Clarke and Jaded. Between their own tracks and their collabs, they’ve already achieved GRAMMY® and Billboard Music Award nominations; sold-out a headline tour, hit Radio 1’s Big Weekend; played to packed arenas with 5 Seconds Of Summer; and earned airplay from Radio 1, Capital Dance and Apple Music 1.

To step inside the mind of Don Diablo is to step inside the future. The Dutch visionary demonstrates a total immersion in his craft that has seen him challenge perceptions and break down creative boundaries with his numerous endeavours across the music, art, fashion and tech realms. Consistently achieving high placing in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs list, the sought-after producer has collaborated with an array of major artists including Dua Lipa, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, Rihanna and Coldplay. His own projects are just as attention-grabbing, as seen with his most recent studio album FORΞVΞR. He further extends his influence over electronic music with his Hexagon brand: its radio show has millions of global listeners, its label presents a perfect platform to champion new talent, and clothing line serves as a testament to his fashion credentials. Don Diablo recently played his biggest ever US show with a spectacular production at the Brooklyn Mirage.

But there’s more to Don Diablo than just music, including collaborations with institutions and brands such as Disney, Sotheby’s, Netflix and the Pace Gallery. He teamed up with the United Nations and the non-profit grassroots organisation JustDiggit to launch his #STREAMTOREGREEN initiative. The concept is simple: all streaming income of a song is donated to JustDiggit, supporting their environmental work through nature based solutions.
