Manchester guitar band Arkayla announce their biggest headline show to date, with a 2,500-capacity performance at Manchester Academy on 22nd May 2027.
The announcement follows an extraordinary run of momentum for the rising four-piece, who have just completed their biggest UK headline tour to date, selling almost 5,000 tickets across eight cities. Every date sells out within minutes, including a headline show at Manchester’s 1,600-capacity O2 Ritz.
The new Manchester Academy headline marks another major step forward for Arkayla, who have rapidly expanded their audience through relentless touring, festival appearances and a grassroots following built around their energetic live shows.
That growth has accelerated throughout 2026, with the band appearing at Latitude Festival, Truck Festival, Kendal Calling and Leeds Festival, including a main-stage performance at the latter. One of the summer’s biggest moments comes at Neighbourhood Weekender, where Arkayla play to a packed tent of around 8,000 people.
Their rise has been accompanied by growing support from across the UK music scene, with the band continuing to build an audience around their blend of guitar-driven songwriting, sharp lyrics and an increasingly formidable live presence.
Manchester remains central to the band’s story, particularly through their latest EP Back To Belle Vue. The release takes its name from the city’s historic Belle Vue, which holds a personal connection for drummer Dylan, whose grandfather worked there as Head Zookeeper.
That connection gives the forthcoming Manchester Academy show an added significance. Having already sold out the O2 Ritz, returning to their home city to headline a venue capable of housing 2,500 fans represents another substantial milestone for Arkayla and a full-circle moment for a band whose musical identity remains deeply rooted in Manchester.
The scale of the latest headline run demonstrates just how quickly that local following is translating into national demand. The band have tripled the ticket sales of their previous headline tours, while their O2 Ritz show alone sells more tickets than they managed across their entire previous headline run.
Formed through a series of chance encounters spanning school, college and rehearsal rooms, Arkayla have steadily developed their reputation by taking the traditional route: playing live, building relationships with their audience and putting in the miles. Their approach is now paying dividends, with the band having already shared stages with Andy Goodwin, Seb Lowe, The Lathums, The Royston Club and Blossoms.
Since emerging in 2023, Arkayla have established themselves as a band with ambitions well beyond their hometown. Their latest EP has helped push that growth further, with the band now reaching more than 96,000 monthly Spotify listeners and building an Instagram following of 58,000.
The forthcoming Manchester Academy show will bring together the audience that has followed the band from their earliest grassroots performances with the new fans won over during an increasingly busy festival and touring schedule.
With another sold-out headline tour behind them and a 2,500-capacity Manchester show now on the horizon, Arkayla are continuing to turn their hometown foundations into something considerably bigger.
Arkayla headline Manchester Academy on 22nd May 2027, with support from Little Grandad and Strata.
