Boston post-hardcore favourites Fiddlehead have announced their return with a brand-new EP, Baby I’ll Change, arriving on 26th June. The three-track release marks the band’s first new material since 2023’s acclaimed Death Is Nothing To Us and finds the group entering a fresh creative chapter forged through grief, friendship and renewed purpose.

Alongside the announcement, Fiddlehead have unveiled the EP’s title track and an accompanying cinematic video that captures the emotional weight at the heart of the band’s latest work. Expansive and deeply affecting, Baby I’ll Change showcases a different side of Fiddlehead’s songwriting, beginning with a restrained intimacy before building towards one of the most anthemic climaxes of their career.

For vocalist Patrick Flynn, the new EP emerged during a period of profound personal loss. Following the release of Death Is Nothing To Us — a record that completed a trilogy exploring grief, family and personal growth — Flynn questioned whether the band had reached its natural conclusion. “I felt totally satisfied,” Flynn explains. “The concept of writing more after the third LP was like, ‘What are we doing here?'”

That perspective shifted dramatically in late 2024 following the death of Flynn’s mother. In the days that followed, bandmates Alex Henery and Nick Hinsch travelled across the country simply to be with their friend during one of the most difficult moments of his life. What began as an act of support soon evolved into something more.

“We went to Pat’s house just to support him in a dark time and then we ended up writing music,” recalls Henery.

Those sessions would ultimately become the foundation of Baby I’ll Change, a release that reaffirms the bond at the centre of Fiddlehead while simultaneously pushing the band’s sound into new territory.

Determined to avoid repeating themselves, the group travelled to North Carolina to work with producer Alex Farrar, whose recent work has included projects with Wednesday, Archers Of Loaf and M.J. Lenderman. The collaboration provided the perfect environment for experimentation, resulting in three songs that balance the urgency and catharsis of Fiddlehead’s hardcore roots with broader melodic ambitions.

Opening track The Dogs serves as a celebration of the band’s enduring friendships, while Porchlight explores new sonic textures through alternate tunings and soaring melodies. The EP’s emotional centrepiece, however, remains the title track.

According to the band, Baby I’ll Change came together during a tense but creatively transformative final day in the studio. What began as a simple acoustic guitar idea evolved into an expansive composition layered with shimmering guitars, dynamic arrangements and one of Flynn’s most vulnerable vocal performances to date.

The song also carries a poignant connection to the late Boston hardcore figure Jimmy Flynn, whose phrase “baby, I’ll change” inspired the track’s title and lyrical themes. Exploring addiction, hope and the painful struggle for self-improvement, the song channels both personal and communal experiences into something deeply resonant.

For a band that has repeatedly viewed each release as potentially their last, Baby I’ll Change feels less like a farewell and more like a rebirth. Rather than closing a chapter, the EP opens the door to a future that even the band themselves had not anticipated.

“We’ve gone into every record with the idea that it might be the last thing we ever do,” says Flynn. “Now I want to keep this thing going until the wheels fall off.”

With new music arriving this week and an extensive touring schedule ahead, Fiddlehead appear revitalised, proving once again why they remain one of the most compelling and emotionally honest voices in modern hardcore.

Arriving as one of the album’s most emotionally resonant moments, bury you showcases the trio’s ability to transform personal hardship into cathartic, arena-sized songwriting. While much of the record explores grief, uncertainty and emotional upheaval, the new single offers a different perspective: one of reflection, resilience and the difficult conversations required to move forward.

Built around soaring melodies and a powerful chorus, bury you captures the spirit that has made The XCERTS one of the UK’s most enduring alternative rock bands. The song balances vulnerability with determination, delivering what frontman Murray Macleod describes as an exercise in “tough love” – both towards others and towards oneself.

Speaking about the track, Macleod explains that the song emerged towards the end of the album’s writing process as he reflected on a difficult period shared by both himself and those around him.

“I wanted something that had not a sense of hope, but something that’s almost meant to feel like a sobering conversation. I had a lot of those with close friends who were also having tough times during that period, so I wanted to have a song that represents tough love.”

The track continues the emotional narrative established by previous singles from i think i want to go home now., an album that sees The XCERTS confronting some of the most challenging experiences of their lives. Written collaboratively by all three members in a single room – a process they had not embraced since their earliest releases – the album documents two years marked by profound personal loss and family illness.

Among the experiences informing the record are bassist Jordan Smith’s loss of his mother and Macleod’s father’s cancer diagnosis. Rather than retreating from those realities, the band channelled them directly into the songwriting, creating a collection of songs that feels raw, immediate and deeply human.

Recorded with producer Larry Hibbitt at Beehive Studios, the ten-track album marks a return to the close-knit creative process that helped define the band’s early years. That renewed sense of connection appears to have rekindled the chemistry that has underpinned The XCERTS’ career since their breakthrough releases.

Since emerging from Aberdeen in the mid-2000s, The XCERTS have built a fiercely loyal following through acclaimed albums including There Is Only You, Hold On To Your Heart and Learning How To Live And Let Go. Their blend of emotionally charged lyrics, soaring hooks and explosive live performances has earned them a reputation as one of Britain’s most reliable and heartfelt alternative rock acts.

To celebrate the release of i think i want to go home now., the band will embark on a run of intimate UK in-store appearances throughout July before joining fellow Scottish rockers Twin Atlantic on a major UK tour this autumn.

With bury you providing another compelling preview of the album, The XCERTS appear poised to deliver one of the most personal and affecting records of their career.

There are few concert settings in Britain as naturally dramatic as the Eden Sessions. Nestled within a former clay pit and framed by the iconic biomes of the Eden Project, the venue possesses a unique sense of occasion before a note is even played. On this June evening, the Cornish weather appears determined to play its part too. Persistent rain hangs over the site for much of the day, only to disappear almost on cue as Gary Lightbody, Nathan Connolly and Johnny McDaid walk on stage. It feels as though somebody has edited the weather into the evening’s script.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Eden Sessions, and Snow Patrol’s appearance feels particularly fitting. The band first played here twenty years ago and tonight marks their third visit to the venue. Lightbody wastes little time acknowledging the achievement, joking that completing the Eden Sessions “hat-trick” surely earns the band a special commemorative mug. The crowd immediately warm to his trademark self-deprecating humour.

For a band now more than three decades into their career, Snow Patrol show little interest in simply revisiting old glories. Instead, they deliver a set that balances celebration with reflection, pairing beloved anthems with material from their recent UK number one album The Forest Is The Path. The newer songs sit comfortably alongside established favourites, demonstrating a band still interested in moving forward rather than trading solely on nostalgia.

The audience even receives an unexpected bonus in the form of a brand-new song slated for release next year. Introducing it, Lightbody jokingly asks the crowd to sing along “if you know the words”, drawing laughter from thousands gathered beneath the Cornish sky. As events later prove, that joke becomes one of the evening’s most memorable running themes.

At 50 years old, Lightbody remains one of Britain’s most charismatic and relatable frontmen. There are no rock-star pretensions here. Instead, he projects warmth, gratitude and a genuine connection with the audience. Having celebrated his milestone birthday only days earlier, he dedicates the remainder of the show to “growing the hell up” – a notion greeted with amusement from a crowd clearly happy for him to continue doing exactly the opposite.

Musically, the band are in superb form. Connolly’s muscular guitar work provides much of the set’s backbone while McDaid’s multi-instrumental contributions add texture and atmosphere throughout. Backed by an accomplished touring band, the songs feel larger than ever without losing the emotional intimacy that has always made Snow Patrol resonate with audiences.

The emotional core of the evening arrives through a trio of songs that have become embedded within British popular culture. Run, Open Your Eyes and Chasing Cars remain centrepieces of the band’s catalogue, yet they are performed with the same care and conviction as if they had been written yesterday.

Before launching into Run, Lightbody reminds the audience that the song is now more than twenty years old and jokingly warns that he may forget the lyrics. It seems like a throwaway comment. It isn’t. Barely a few lines into the song, he momentarily loses his place. “Ahhh shit.”

The admission is accompanied by a broad grin and a shrug before he quickly recovers and carries on. Far from detracting from the performance, the moment only strengthens the connection between artist and audience. In an era where live performances can sometimes feel overly polished and meticulously programmed, there is something refreshing about witnessing genuine humanity on stage. These are the moments people remember long after the final encore. No backing tracks can recreate them.

As darkness gradually begins to fall, Open Your Eyes transforms the atmosphere. Waves of light bounce across the audience while the Eden biomes glow in vivid shades of pink and purple behind the stage. The setting becomes almost cinematic, creating a visual spectacle unique to this venue. It is one of those moments where the surroundings become inseparable from the performance itself.

Then comes Chasing Cars. Predictably, it is the singalong of the night.

Thousands of voices rise in unison, echoing around the vast bowl of the Eden Project. The song has long since transcended its origins to become something shared across generations, and hearing it performed in this setting feels genuinely special. As the crowd collectively sings, “Would you lie with me and just forget the world?”, the moment feels less like a concert and more like a communal act of reflection. For a few minutes, strangers become united by a song that has soundtracked countless personal memories.

Yet what makes the evening particularly impressive is that the newer material never feels overshadowed by the hits. Songs from The Forest Is The Path are greeted enthusiastically and blend seamlessly into the set. Their sweeping melodies and emotional weight demonstrate that Snow Patrol remain creatively engaged and capable of producing music that stands comfortably alongside their most celebrated work.

Throughout the night, the band sound exceptional. The arrangements are expansive without becoming bloated, the musicianship remains impeccable and Lightbody’s distinctive voice retains its ability to convey vulnerability and hope in equal measure. More importantly, there remains an authenticity to Snow Patrol that many bands lose as their careers progress.

Twenty years after their first Eden Sessions appearance, Snow Patrol return not simply to revisit old memories but to help create new ones. Against the backdrop of Cornwall’s most iconic venue, they deliver a performance filled with humour, humility and heart.

As the final notes fade away and the crowd begin the long walk back through the illuminated Eden Project, there is a sense that everyone has witnessed something more than just another summer concert. Snow Patrol’s third appearance at Eden Sessions confirms why both band and venue have endured for so long. Some partnerships simply work.

The London six-piece have spent the last few years building a formidable reputation through electrifying live performances, sold-out headline tours and a string of acclaimed singles that have positioned them at the forefront of a new wave of adventurous British guitar music. With Get Up And Dance, they once again demonstrate why so many are tipping them for even bigger things.

Marking the first Man/Woman/Chainsaw release to feature Emmie-Mae Avery on lead vocals, the track showcases another side of the band’s increasingly expansive sound. Opening with swirling synths and sweeping strings before erupting into a dramatic, rhythm-driven crescendo, Get Up And Dance balances theatricality with sharp-edged indie-rock energy.

Speaking about the track, Avery explains that the song plays out like a tense dancefloor encounter, beginning as a playful interaction before turning into a test of someone’s intentions and willingness to embarrass themselves for affection. The result is a track that feels simultaneously mischievous, confrontational and irresistibly infectious.

Recorded at London’s legendary RAK Studios with producers Seth Evans and Margo Broom, Get Up And Dance continues the creative partnership that helped shape the band’s recent run of singles, including Adam & Steve, Only Girl and Nosedive. Together, those releases have steadily built anticipation for Cannonball, an album already shaping up to be one of the year’s most intriguing debut records.

Formed while still in their mid-teens and initially writing songs in a converted vicarage, Man/Woman/Chainsaw have developed a sound that defies easy categorisation. Elements of post-punk, orchestral pop, experimental rock and indie collide throughout their music, creating something uniquely their own. The band’s dual-vocal approach, combined with violin flourishes, dynamic arrangements and unpredictable song structures, has become a defining characteristic of their work.

According to drummer Lola Cherry, the album originally began with ambitions of being an all-out collection of “bangers”, inspired by the relentless intensity of bands such as Rage Against The Machine. However, as the songwriting evolved, the group embraced quieter, more reflective moments that have ultimately become central to their identity.

That balance appears throughout Cannonball. Across eleven tracks, the record captures the emotional turbulence, uncertainty and exhilaration of life in your late teens and early twenties, wrapped in ambitious arrangements that feel both intimate and cinematic.

The band have spent the last year turning heads on both sides of the Atlantic, including a breakthrough appearance at SXSW, live sessions for BBC 6 Music and KEXP, and sold-out headline shows across the UK. Their growing reputation as one of London’s most compelling young live acts has only strengthened with every performance.

To celebrate the release of Cannonball, Man/Woman/Chainsaw have announced a series of UK in-store appearances throughout August before embarking on an extensive UK and Ireland headline tour this autumn.

With Get Up And Dance adding another standout moment to an already impressive catalogue, Man/Woman/Chainsaw look poised to make the leap from cult favourites to one of the defining new bands of their generation.

Launching in Stockholm, Paris, Berlin, Düsseldorf and London, the temporary retail spaces will coincide with the band’s completely sold-out 2026 stadium tour and celebrate the 25th anniversary of their landmark album Toxicity.

The announcement arrives after overwhelming demand for the band’s European comeback shows, with multiple stadium dates selling out almost instantly. The fan stores have been created as a special experience for supporters, offering exclusive merchandise, collectables and limited-edition releases unavailable anywhere else.

Fans visiting the stores will find an extensive range of official System Of A Down apparel, including t-shirts, hoodies, track jackets, jerseys and accessories. Among the most sought-after items are expected to be a series of exclusive football shirts created in collaboration with sportswear brand hummel, blending the band’s unmistakable visual identity with classic football-inspired styling.

Collectors will also have the opportunity to pick up special tour-edition coloured vinyl pressings of Toxicity, with each city receiving its own unique colour variant. Commemorative posters and a selection of city-exclusive merchandise will further distinguish each location, making every store a destination in its own right.

The launch underlines the enduring cultural impact of System Of A Down, whose influence continues to span generations of rock and metal fans. Since emerging from Los Angeles in the late 1990s, the quartet of Serj Tankian, Daron Malakian, Shavo Odadjian and John Dolmayan have become one of the most distinctive and influential bands of the modern era. Their fusion of crushing riffs, politically charged lyricism, Armenian folk influences and unpredictable songwriting helped redefine heavy music and inspired countless artists that followed.
