London’s chaotic underground force Bad Fractals have announced their debut album The Sea Sang Screaming, set for release on 15th May via Creation Youth Records, with vinyl editions landing as part of this year’s Record Store Day celebrations.
Accompanying the announcement is the band’s explosive new single Strike!, a swaggering, glam-infused punk anthem that captures their signature blend of theatrical chaos and raw rock ‘n’ roll energy. Equal parts sleazy groove and acid-drenched attitude, the track embodies the band’s mission to reintroduce danger, excess and unfiltered fun back into modern guitar music.
Formed from a diverse mix of international backgrounds spanning the UK, Latvia, Germany, Sardinia and Greece, Bad Fractals have built a reputation for their unpredictable and immersive live shows. Known to perform in unconventional spaces—from derelict buildings to moving vehicles—the band thrives on spontaneity and spectacle, creating performances that blur the line between gig and happening.
The Sea Sang Screaming has been produced and mixed by Youth and Michael Rendall, marking a significant step for the band as they channel their anarchic live energy into a fully realised studio record. The album promises a heady mix of acid punk, glam trash and distorted blues, with tracks like Disco Devils, Chemical Weddings and Walk Of Shame hinting at its wide-ranging sonic palette.
The video for Strike! further amplifies the band’s aesthetic, filmed across striking London locations including Balfron Tower and various warehouse spaces. The visuals lean into themes of urban decay, gender fluidity and rebellious expression, mirroring the band’s ethos of liberation through chaos.
To celebrate the album’s release, Bad Fractals will take to the stage for a series of UK shows this May, including a London launch show and festival appearances. With their debut record finally set to drop, the band look poised to bring their riotous vision to an even wider audience.
