Bat For Lashes aka Natasha Khan has announced a limited five-date tour of the UK, taking place in November.
Kicking off in Birmingham on the 21st and taking in shows in London’s Earth and Manchester Albert Hall alongside Birmingham, Brighton and Edinburgh, these performances are being billed as “intimate, vocal, electronic synth and piano sets”.
They’re set to feature a never performed before set of previous Bat For Lashes material and songs from the new album Lost Girls, which was released on 6th September.
The 10-track LP, Bat For Lashes’ fifth, sees Khan dreaming up her own fully formed parallel universe, creating an off-kilter coming of age film in which gangs of marauding female bikers roam our streets, teenagers make out on car hoods and a powerful female energy casts spells and leave clues for us to follow.
The women of Lost Girls are parallel to one of Khan’s previous female protagonists, the tough, darkness-driven Pearl, from her 2009 album Two Suns. Within these women and the character Nikki Pink, Khan unfolds elements of herself across songs like Kids In The Dark, The Hunger, and Desert Man.
Described as “widescreen in scope and bursting with Technicolour intensity”, Lost Girls is “an album for driving in the dark; holding hands at sunset; jumping off bridges with vampires; riding your bike across the moon”.
The general onsale date for the November UK tour is 19th September, but fans who order the album on any format from the official Bat For Lashes store before 5pm on 13th September are eligible for the fan pre-sale on 16th September.
