by | Jan 16, 2025

Taking place around one of the biggest nights in UK music – the Brit Awards – War Child presents one-off performances from some of the biggest and most exciting names in music at intimate venues. These shows are often unique and not to be missed. The BRITs Week For War Child series of shows started in 2009 has been a consistent highlight in the UK music calendar that not only provides fans to see their favourite artists in intimate venues whilst also raising large amounts of money for a worthy cause; over £7 million to date.

Beginning in the east of the capital at Hackney’s MOTH Club is 2023 Brit Rising Star nominee Cat Burns kicks off BRITs Week. Following the release of her debut album early twenties, the 24 year old south London singer songwriter has been on an upward trajectory since her single ‘Go’ gained traction on Tiktok in 2022.

Another exciting and beautiful storyteller coming out of the capital is Joy Crookes who heads to Islington’s Assembly Hall on the 18th. Like Burns, Joy was a Brits Rising Star nominee in 2020 and has just released her new single Pass the Salt featuring Californian rapper Vince Staples, her first new music in over 3 years.

Heading south of the river, Rachel Chinouriri will bring her Indie-Pop to Omeara on February 20th. Despite releasing music since 2018, 2024 was a breakout year for Chinouriri and as she is supporting Sabrina Carpenter on the UK leg of her Short ‘N’ Sweet tour, you won’t see the Kingston upon Thames singer in a more intimate setting than this.

Also at Omeara, are genre bending Nova Twins on the 24th. Having featured on Bring Me The Horizon track 1×1, the duo burst onto the scene in 2020 and just two years later, their critically acclaimed sophomore album Supernova reached number 2 in the independent charts whilst also being nominated for a mercury prize. Vocalist/guitarist Amy Love and bassist Georgia South have been one of the most talked about rock groups of the 2020’s. We covered them in 2023, supporting Muse at London’s O2 Arena and they are guaranteed to blow the roof off of the Borough venue.

Quite possibly the most hard working musician in the business, Frank Turner. A world record holder, having played 15 gigs across 15 different towns or cities over 24 hours, Turner heads to Alexandra Palace next month for what will be the 3,000th show of his career. The night before, he’ll be playing at Shoreditch’s 93 Feet East, which is sure to be a raucous night.

The legendary English rockers Kasabian, will take to the stage at the iconic Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 28th February. Supported by English quintet indie rock band, Blossoms, this is sure to be a night to remember, full of recognisable riffs and singalong choruses.

One of the most famous venues in the capital, the London Palladium plays host to Grammy award winning pop sensation Clean Bandit. Having dominated the charts over the past decade, they will be joined by a string of yet-to-be-announced special guests, so this is sure to be a night to remember.

On 3rd March, platinum-selling BRIT award winner, Tom Walker will take the stage for a special acoustic show at the highly celebrated King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, in Glasgow.

The mercury prize nominated Soft Play head to London’s Village Underground on the 4th March. 2024 marked their first album in six years and the duo from Royal Tunbridge Wells will bring unbridled energy to the Shoreditch stage.

Children don’t have any say in political decisions that affect them. They don’t start wars. They bear the consequences of the actions of others and War Child are committed to give a brighter future for those affected by war and conflict. These artists have taken the time to put on unique shows and bring awareness to such a noble and worthwhile cause.
