The origins of My Life As A Moth trace back to lockdown, when Swedish-born, London-based artist Sofia Palm rediscovered music during a period of isolation. A chance moment—finding a dead moth inside a long-forgotten keyboard—sparked the creation of her debut song and ultimately gave rise to the project’s name and aesthetic. That interplay between fragility and beauty continues to define her work.

Written during a period of personal transformation, The Parade Of The Starlet & The Broken Hearted explores themes of trauma, manipulation and emotional recovery, while also embracing resilience and self-discovery. Through surreal imagery and layered storytelling, the album introduces the symbolic figures of the “starlet” and her “parade,” representing strength and empathy in a fractured world.

The album’s production, handled by Ellie Mason and Keir Adamson, plays a key role in shaping its unique atmosphere. Recorded over the course of a year in a garden studio, the sessions incorporated unconventional sound design, with everyday objects transformed into percussive and textural elements. Debuted in unforgettable fashion, the track was first performed during a surprise pop-up show at New York’s Penn Station, where Capaldi transformed a busy commuter hub into an impromptu live venue before bringing the song to a sold-out headline performance at Madison Square Garden later that same day.

Stay Love is a stripped-back, piano-led ballad that finds Capaldi at his most vulnerable. Produced by The Monsters & Strangerz alongside Michael Pollack, the track expands the Survive EP into a five-song collection, deepening its emotional scope.
