Country music powerhouse Lainey Wilson continues her remarkable run of success with the release of her brand-new single Phone, Keys, Wallet, a heartfelt and spirited collaboration featuring acclaimed guitarist and singer-songwriter John Mayer.

The track arrives as another compelling chapter in what has already been a landmark year for the Louisiana-born star. Written during the closing stretch of Wilson’s extensive Whirlwind World Tour and recorded at Mayer’s Chaplin Studios in Los Angeles, Phone, Keys, Wallet captures the whirlwind nature of modern life through Wilson’s signature blend of honesty, humour and emotional authenticity.

Built around a warm country-pop groove and elevated by Mayer’s tasteful guitar work, the song celebrates the person willing to stand by you through life’s inevitable chaos. Wilson describes herself as “a tornado with boots on” and channels that self-awareness into a track that feels both deeply personal and universally relatable.

Speaking about the song, Wilson explains that it reflects the experience of finding someone who embraces your imperfections rather than trying to change them. That sentiment runs throughout the track, which balances vulnerability with the confidence that has become a hallmark of her songwriting.

The new release follows a string of high-profile projects and collaborations. Earlier this year Wilson joined forces with Miley Cyrus for the reflective duet Younger You, while her recent single Can’t Sit Still further showcased her ability to blend traditional country storytelling with contemporary energy.

Wilson’s profile continues to soar well beyond the recording studio. The GRAMMY® Award-winning singer recently headlined Stagecoach Festival, delivered a standout performance to one of country music’s biggest audiences, and remains one of the genre’s most influential voices. Her growing cultural impact has also extended into film and television, with her acting career gathering momentum following her appearance in Yellowstone and a recent role in the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s Reminders Of Him.

Fans have also been given a behind-the-scenes look at Wilson’s extraordinary journey through the new Netflix documentary Lainey Wilson: Keepin’ Country Cool, charting her rise from small-town Louisiana to becoming one of country music’s defining stars.

The accolades continue to pile up. Wilson recently added further CMA Awards to her collection, including Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year for Whirlwind. Those achievements build on an already staggering résumé that includes multiple ACM Awards, GRAMMY® recognition and a string of chart-topping singles such as Heart Like A Truck, Watermelon Moonshine and 4x4xU.

Known as one of Nashville’s most sought-after songwriters, Wilson has built a reputation for crafting songs that resonate across genres while maintaining a distinctly country heart. Collaborations with artists including Jelly Roll, HARDY, Cole Swindell, Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton, Miranda Lambert and Post Malone have further cemented her status as one of contemporary country music’s most versatile talents.

With Phone, Keys, Wallet now out in the world and more new music expected on the horizon, Lainey Wilson shows no signs of slowing down. The single offers another glimpse into an artist operating at the peak of her powers—combining authentic storytelling, arena-sized charisma and a relentless work ethic that continues to propel her to new heights.

Vancouver post-punk newcomers DOUR continue to build anticipation for their forthcoming debut album AGORA with the release of its striking second single, Towers, a brooding and thought-provoking exploration of modern isolation and self-imposed confinement.

Set for release on 26th June, AGORA promises to be one of the year’s most compelling debut statements, tackling themes of technological dependence, social alienation and the growing disconnect between individuals and the world around them. Following the unsettling intensity of lead single Neophiliac, which examined the flattening of identity in an increasingly screen-dominated culture, Towers shifts the focus inward, shining a light on the quieter forms of imprisonment many people willingly create for themselves.

Driven by DOUR’s signature blend of angular guitars, atmospheric tension and emotionally charged vocals, Towers captures the feeling of retreating from society into carefully curated personal spaces. Whether through endless digital entertainment, remote lifestyles or the comfort of familiar routines, the song questions how easily modern life can encourage isolation while disguising it as convenience.

Frontman Zak Salehian describes the track as a reflection on a growing societal condition, where people increasingly withdraw into what he calls “human terrariums”—self-constructed environments that offer comfort but ultimately limit genuine connection and freedom. While the song acknowledges that escape can be found through nature, openness and human interaction, it stops short of offering easy solutions.

Instead, Towers embraces the discomfort of the issue, presenting a stark portrait of a cycle that many listeners will recognise. Its haunting atmosphere and relentless tension make it one of the most emotionally affecting tracks yet to emerge from the upcoming album.

The single further showcases DOUR’s ability to balance philosophical themes with visceral musicality. Beneath its introspective lyrics lies a powerful sense of urgency, driven by hypnotic rhythms and dynamic instrumentation that steadily build towards an unsettling climax.

AGORA carries additional emotional weight for the band. The album was written and recorded with bassist Gabe Jacob Ferman, who sadly passed away before its completion. Rather than shelving the material, DOUR made the decision to release the record as originally intended, preserving his contribution and honouring the creative partnership that helped shape the band’s formative sound.

Since recording the album, DOUR has evolved into a new incarnation featuring Salehian alongside drummer Dougie Pocasangre, bassist Bronwyn O’Keefe and guitarist Jose Miguel Norena. The band’s live performances have subsequently taken on a new dimension, reinterpreting the material through the lens of their current lineup while retaining the emotional core of the original recordings.

Emerging from Vancouver’s thriving alternative scene with their acclaimed 2025 EP Rudiments, DOUR have quickly established themselves as one of Canada’s most intriguing new acts. Their blend of post-punk, art rock and socially conscious songwriting has earned them growing attention, while appearances alongside artists including CHALK, DZ Deathrays, Omni and Tropical Fuck Storm have further cemented their reputation as a band to watch.

With Towers, DOUR deliver another powerful statement of intent. Dark, intelligent and unflinchingly honest, the track offers a glimpse into an album that appears poised to tackle some of the defining anxieties of contemporary life.

Arriving with an electrifying live video capturing the chaos and energy of the band’s recent headline tour, Bitter End finds Corella operating at full throttle. Built on pounding drums, jagged guitar riffs and an undeniable sense of urgency, the track showcases a heavier, more aggressive edge to the band’s sound while retaining the infectious hooks that have become their trademark.

Frontman Joel Smith delivers one of his most commanding vocal performances to date, dissecting modern ambition and society’s obsession with success. The song examines the relentless pursuit of achievement and the sacrifices often made in the process, wrapped in a whirlwind of indie-rock swagger and stadium-sized energy.

Speaking about the track, Smith explains: “Bitter End captures that restless drive to chase something bigger, exploring the highs, chaos and obsession that come with wanting more out of life. It plays with the idea of the modern dream – success, excess and the determination to keep pushing no matter the cost.”

The single has already made its live debut during a series of intimate headline shows across Northern England, where fans were given an early taste of the new material. Packed venues and euphoric crowd reactions demonstrated just how eagerly anticipated the band’s next chapter has become, with several new songs reportedly provoking some of the most intense responses of Corella’s career so far.

Produced by GRAMMY® Award-winning Jason Perry, A Beautiful World To Lose represents a significant step forward for the quartet. Having built a loyal fanbase through relentless touring and a string of infectious indie anthems, Corella now appear ready to broaden their sonic horizons without abandoning the qualities that first won them widespread attention.

The album promises a collection of songs that balance introspection with explosive energy. Tracks such as Rewire channel raw frustration through razor-sharp riffs and biting lyricism, while Lost A Friend explores vulnerability and emotional fallout. Elsewhere, uplifting anthems like Simple Life provide moments of optimism amidst themes of heartbreak, loss and generational disillusionment.

At its core, A Beautiful World To Lose reflects the anxieties and frustrations facing a generation navigating uncertainty, social pressure and an increasingly unpredictable world. Yet despite its darker themes, the album appears to carry a defiant sense of resilience, delivered through the band’s most ambitious songwriting to date.

Corella’s rise over recent years has been nothing short of impressive. Since the release of their debut album, the band have amassed more than 70 million streams, earned widespread support across national radio, and developed a reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting live acts. Their relentless work ethic has seen them sell out headline tours throughout the UK and Europe, perform on major festival stages including Reading & Leeds, and share bills with the likes of Kaiser Chiefs, Pale Waves, Circa Waves and The Wombats.

With Bitter End providing another compelling glimpse into the band’s evolution, Corella look poised to elevate themselves to an entirely new level when A Beautiful World To Lose arrives this September.

Nearly two decades into their career, Citizen continue to evolve without losing the emotional honesty and intensity that first established them as one of alternative rock’s most compelling voices.

The newly released title track follows the acclaimed lead single Highs And Lows and showcases a different side of the band’s ever-expanding sound. While its predecessor leaned heavily into Citizen’s punchy alternative rock roots, Halcyon Blues embraces a more atmospheric and introspective approach. Delicate verses gradually give way to a soaring chorus, highlighting the band’s ability to balance vulnerability with widescreen musical ambition.

Vocalist Mat Kerekes describes the song as an exploration of emotional distance and inevitable change: “It’s about a silent disconnect between two people. You both know you’re no longer meant to be in each other’s lives but instead of accepting it, you sit in the space between and watch one another become strangers in real time.”

The song encapsulates the reflective tone running throughout the forthcoming album, a record that appears to draw from every chapter of Citizen’s musical journey. From their early post-hardcore beginnings through explorations of indie rock, emo and alternative music, Halcyon Blues brings those influences together into a cohesive statement that feels both familiar and refreshingly new.

Recorded by Kerekes and mixed by renowned producer Tom Lord-Alge, the album combines the urgency of Citizen’s formative releases with the confidence and melodic sophistication they have developed over years of relentless touring and creative experimentation.

Since forming in Toledo nearly 20 years ago, Citizen have carved out a unique place within modern rock. Never content to remain within the confines of a single genre, the band have continually challenged themselves, building a fiercely loyal fanbase that has followed every twist and turn of their evolution. That commitment to growth appears central to Halcyon Blues, an album that reflects not only where Citizen have been but also where they are heading next.

With anticipation building ahead of the album’s release, Citizen are preparing to take the new material around the world. Following an extensive North American run, the band will return to the UK and Europe this autumn alongside Modern Color and thistle., bringing their dynamic live show to some of the country’s most respected venues.

As Halcyon Blues demonstrates, Citizen remain a band driven not by trends but by artistic progression. Seventeen years on, they continue to push forward with the same determination that first set them apart.

Known for combining crushing riffs with sharp social commentary, the band continue to explore the darker corners of contemporary life, but this time through the lens of history. While previous singles Take It Back and 37 Days drew directly from current political and social issues, Men Of The West turns its gaze backwards, using the backdrop of historical warfare to examine timeless themes of fear, courage and survival.

Driven by grinding guitars, relentless rhythms and a towering climax that has already become a standout moment in the band’s live set, Men Of The West captures the emotional intensity of soldiers facing impossible odds. Yet beneath its historical setting lies a reflection on modern conflicts and the human cost of war.

Speaking about the track, the band explained that the ongoing war in Ukraine weighed heavily on their minds during the writing process. Rather than attempting to place themselves directly within a contemporary conflict, they chose to explore universal experiences of warfare through a historical narrative, allowing themes of terror, claustrophobia and resilience to emerge in a way that felt both authentic and deeply personal.

The single offers another glimpse into Children, an album shaped by the political and social turbulence of recent years. Written largely during 2025 and recorded in Oakland, California, the record tackles subjects including toxic masculinity, online radicalisation, immigration policy, domestic abuse and the devastating consequences of modern warfare. Across its eight tracks, Wealthy Women balance anger and grief with moments of dark humour and biting satire, creating a record that feels both urgent and emotionally resonant.

At the heart of the band’s perspective is their status as outsiders. While based in San Francisco, Wealthy Women draw from a diverse range of experiences. Bassist Don Doblados is the son of Filipino immigrants, drummer Andrew Harms relocated from Kansas, while guitarist and vocalist Peter Sisk moved from Ireland to the United States in 2017. Together, those differing viewpoints help shape an album that observes modern America with a mixture of fascination, concern and hard-earned honesty.

Produced by Scott Evans, whose work with heavy music innovators has earned widespread acclaim, Children promises a weighty and uncompromising debut. Musically, it channels the physical power of metal while remaining rooted in storytelling, tackling difficult subjects with intelligence and conviction.

With Men Of The West, Wealthy Women demonstrate that heavy music can still be both politically engaged and emotionally affecting. As anticipation builds towards the release of Children, the trio are positioning themselves as one of the more thought-provoking new voices emerging from the American underground.
