Canadian native, singer-songwriter Colter Wall is releasing his first full album this October. Wall’s extraordinary voice lends itself perfectly to his blend of dark folk, blues and Americana. Still in his early twenties, his voice is laden with experience and depth. His music has earned him critical acclaim, described by The Times as having, “a timeless quality”. Wall will tour in the wake of the first single release and ahead of the album launch, with shows in England and Ireland.
Wall recorded his first seven-song EP, Imaginary Appalachia, in 2015. Songs from the EP were featured in the television show Dog The Bounty Hunter, and the Oscar nominated films Hell Or High Water and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. The track used in the films, Sleeping On The Blacktop, hit the magic million streams on Spotify.
In 2016, Wall opened for Americana legend Lucinda Williams at the iconic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, taking the first step to solidify his credentials as an essential artist.
New album Songs of the Plains was recorded at Nashville’s RCA Studio A with Grammy Award-winning producer Dave Cobb.
In addition to seven original songs written by Wall, the album also includes versions of Billy Don Burns’ Wild Dogs, Wilf Carter’s Calgary Round-Up and two traditional cowboy tunes, Night Herding Song and Tying Knots In The Devil’s Tail.
Single Plain To See Plainsman is out now and is streaming below
