Hardcore trailblazers Converge have announced their eleventh studio album, Love Is Not Enough, set for release on 13th February 2026. Now marking 35 years as a band, the Massachusetts quartet—Jacob Bannon, Kurt Ballou, Nate Newton and Ben Koller—are gearing up to unveil what may be one of the most potent statements of their career.
Alongside the announcement, Converge have released the album’s blistering title track and accompanying music video. The song strikes directly at the band’s core strengths: primal emotion, stark realism and an unflinching lyrical lens. Vocalist and lyricist Jacob Bannon explains that the track “…explores what it means to remain empathetic and compassionate in the modern world. A reckoning with who we are today and hope to be in the future—if we can fend off the scavengers.”
Recorded and mixed by guitarist/producer Kurt Ballou at God City in Salem, Massachusetts, Love Is Not Enough embraces an intentional rawness. There are no special guests and no smoothing of edges. Instead, Converge push for authenticity, leaning into imperfect takes that capture the full weight of the performances. “Sometimes the perfect take is the one that has some wildness to it,” Bannon notes. “There’s a lot of powerful moments on this record and a lot of angry moments. The realism amplifies that.”
The album also breaks from traditional sequencing. Rather than front-loading highlights, the band crafted a momentum-driven structure designed to intensify as it progresses. “It keeps ramping up,” says Bannon. “Everyone interprets music differently, but this is the one that works.”

Bannon again provides the visual identity, creating artwork for each track and a striking cover depicting a celestial figure watching a burning world—imagery that mirrors the album’s themes of humanity, struggle and perseverance.
