There are album launches, and then there are evenings that feel more like an invitation into somebody’s life. Nathan Leazer’s Dreaming Of A Memory EP launch at The Strand Palace Hotel was firmly the latter.
Performed in front of a small, intimate audience, Leazer stripped everything back, allowing the songs to take centre stage. Each track felt deeply personal, delivered with an honesty that made the room fall silent between lyrics. Rather than simply performing his new EP, Nathan opened himself up to everyone present, sharing the stories and emotions that shaped these songs.

Before and after the performance, Nathan’s humble nature shone through just as much as it did on stage. Happy simply to share his music with others, he spoke with genuine appreciation for the people who had helped him reach this point. Whether talking about his manager, the musicians around him or everyone who had supported his journey, there was no sense of ego, just gratitude from a songwriter living the dream he’d worked so hard to achieve.
One of the evening’s most revealing moments came as the Rockwell, North Carolina native reflected on Why, the song that first put him on many people’s radar. Speaking candidly, he admitted the pressure of trying to recreate the same highs with whatever came next, a feeling that will resonate with many artists following a breakthrough. Rather than hide from that expectation, he embraced it, explaining how those doubts became part of the creative process that ultimately shaped Dreaming Of A Memory.
That vulnerability flowed naturally through the set, from the reflective Why and the beautifully intimate Dreaming Of A Memory to the raw emotion of Smoke And Mirrors and Shadows. Fly On The Breeze provided a welcome lift before the evening built towards its emotional conclusion.
With O’Donnell’s Moonshine flowing through the audience, the atmosphere became warm and relaxed, more like friends gathered in a living room than guests at an industry event. Every lyric landed with weight, every pause carried meaning and every applause felt genuinely earned. It never felt like a showcase; it felt like a conversation between Nathan and everyone in the room.
The evening had all the hallmarks of a labour of love. Behind the scenes, manager Caroline was impossible to miss, not because she sought the spotlight, but because her unwavering belief in Nathan made her feel like an extra member of the band. The dedication behind this project was evident throughout the night, creating an event built on genuine care rather than promotion.
Closing with One More Try, the 31-year-old once again acknowledged the self-doubt that has become such a defining part of his songwriting. Yet rather than leave the audience dwelling in darkness, he offered something far more hopeful. The message at the heart of the song, and indeed the entire evening, was simple: no matter how difficult life becomes or how dark your days may feel, it’s always worth giving it one more try.
Dreaming Of A Memory is an EP rooted in honesty, and Nathan Leazer’s launch performance reflected that beautifully. In an age where bigger often means louder, this was a reminder that sometimes the most memorable performances happen in the quietest rooms. For those fortunate enough to be there, it felt less like an EP launch and more like witnessing an artist brave enough to share not only his music, but also the journey that brought him there.
