Festival: Music Makers – A Two-Day Independent Affair

by | Jul 7, 2017 | Music Festivals

Music Makers is a two-day independent music festival curated with love by London-based musician Albert Man and his manager and co-organiser Manoja Ullmann. It is a welcome addition to the UK festival scene and takes place at the award-winning Omnibus Theatre, a converted Victorian library in the heart of London’s Clapham Old Town.

The festival’s concept derives from Albert and Manoja’s aspiration to give independent artists an opportunity to showcase their talents to a wider audience. They are only too aware of the importance of having a community to support the independent music scene and have called on musicians they have personally collaborated with or know through their work to perform at this exciting event.

Music Makers will feature solo artists, duos, trios and full bands and festival goers will be treated to no less than eight unique performances each day in the main theatre. The impressive line up includes Michele Stodart from The Magic Numbers, new wave indie folk/rock band Belle Roscoe, acoustic singer-songwriter Steve Young, and Mancunian rap/acoustic trio Prose. Singer-songwriter Tom Speight is certainly one to watch on the back of his Willow Tree EP release earlier this year along with international songstress and polymath Anna Pancaldi and of course Albert Man himself. Check out the festival website for the complete line up and artist biographies and the video below.

The venue is described as ‘a small place to encounter big ideas’ and so provides the perfect setting to celebrate the UK’s thriving live music scene. Come and join Albert and Manoja, and RockShot Magazine, in celebrating artists that make really, really good music.
