Hana Lili Shares Latest Single Bedroom Floor Ahead Of Autumn UK Tour

by | Aug 16, 2024

With numerous big moments behind her, Hana Lili’s rise is now reaching full bloom. Her previous single Figure It Out was greeted with airplay from Sian Eleri for Radio 1’s Future Artists and John Kennedy at Radio X, while it also landed on an array of key Spotify playlists led by New Music Friday. Further boosted by the confirmation of her first ever headline tour, Hana Lili now powers forwards with the new single Bedroom Floor.

Bedroom Floor finds Hana Lili whipping up a potion of effervescent emo melody with distorted waves of shoegaze guitar. But, as ever, she ensures that such rock influences are grounded within the framework of an instantly memorable pop song. Her authenticity again informs the lyrics, which explores the kind of intense feelings that will speak to her growing audience. While her vocals are sweetly saccharine and on point throughout, she also gives the track a shot of personality by including a take of her voice breaking into laughter during the song’s final moments.

Hana says: “Bedroom Floor is a song that describes the drama and cathartic feeling of living in the moment. I had a lot of fun with the lyrics when writing this song but also realised the vulnerability when talking about your feelings, even happy, celebratory ones. When producing the track I had a lot of fun running the synths through a multitude of different guitar pedals and really enjoyed playing around with the juxtaposition of creating dramatic production sounds to contrast with talking about making out on a bedroom floor. Justification for the ‘big light’ being OFF!”

Check out the video for Bedroom Floor below:

She co-wrote Bedroom Floor with Mark Vallance (Tom Walker) and co-produced it with Daniel Newcombe (JERUB). From Sully on the Welsh coast, Hana Lili’s independent bedroom pop is making waves in all the right ways (Radio 1 play from Mollie King, Jack Saunders and Maia Beth, plus 6 Music, BBC Radio Wales and Radio Cymru, and ‘Love Island’ features), but it’s a natural fit for the biggest of stages too, with shows as guest to Coldplay, Circa Waves, Tom Grennan and Somebody’s Child all behind her.

While Hana Lili is showing that she has everything it takes to connect with an international audience, her potential is built on credible foundations. Welsh is her first language and playing local folk clubs was her first step into music. She has also been giving back to the local community by running workshops at Merched yn Gwneud Miwsig, an initiative which encourages young women to write and produce music, and to explore roles within the music industry.

Recently, she teamed up with Canon Europe for a special music video challenge that put them both firmly in the spotlight. To celebrate the launch of their new EOS R5 Mark II, Canon Europe gave filmmaker Anthony Rubinstein two days to shoot a video using their new camera and the results look spectacular. Hana Lili’s final Iconic video from the challenge can be seen below while Anthony talks us through the process and demonstrates the camera’s capabilities in the ‘making of’ video HERE.
