Incubus Announce New Album ‘Something In The Water’ — Their First in Eight Years

by | Apr 28, 2025

US rock trailblazers Incubus have officially broken their studio silence, announcing that their long-awaited ninth album, Something In The Water, is on its way — marking their first new full-length record since 2017’s 8.

After months of quiet hints and cryptic teases, the band confirmed the album’s completion last month. Speaking to Germany’s Flux FM, frontman Brandon Boyd shared his excitement about the new material, calling it “a really great record” and adding, “I’m really proud of it, and all of us in the band are really proud of it. We had a wonderful time recording it.”

The new record carries even more significance, as it’s the band’s first with bassist Nicole Row — who joined Incubus in 2024 following a long and celebrated tenure with Panic! At The Disco. Boyd praised Row’s impact, describing her as “a very fast asset to the band,” adding that she brings “amazing ideas” and calling her “a breath of fresh air.” Fans who caught Incubus’ recent European shows have already seen Row seamlessly slot into the band’s dynamic, both live and creatively.

This week, Incubus brought their beloved 2001 album Morning View to life at London’s iconic O2 Arena, performing the record in full to a packed, euphoric crowd which Rockshot Magazine went along to check out. But the band had even bigger surprises in store for their UK fans. In a bold and visually stunning move, Incubus confirmed the title Something In The Water via a series of projections along the River Thames, illuminating London’s skyline with cryptic aquatic imagery and the album name splashed in glowing letters across the water. Shortly after, the band made it official on their Instagram, posting photos of the projections alongside a simple caption: “It’s coming.”

The announcement has immediately set social media ablaze, with fans and critics alike speculating about what musical direction Incubus might explore next. Known for their fearless evolution — from the psychedelic-funk roots of S.C.I.E.N.C.E. to the textured alt-rock landscapes of Morning View and beyond — Incubus have always been a band that thrives on reinvention.

If early comments from the band are anything to go by, Something In The Water promises to be a reinvigorated chapter — a reflection of both Incubus’ legacy and their continued drive to push boundaries.

Pre-orders for Something In The Water are now live HERE, with more details about the album’s release date, tracklist, and upcoming tour expected imminently.

Amy Macdonald Warms A Frozen Hammersmith Apollo With Heart, Humour & Huge Hits

“Are we having a nice time so far? Are we getting a bit warmer?” Amy Macdonald grins, peering out at a Hammersmith Apollo audience bundled into coats and scarves. It’s a question that becomes a running joke throughout the night — because despite the November chill and the decidedly frugal heating, Macdonald sets about warming the 5,000-capacity venue the only way she knows how: with humour, heart, and a powerhouse performance that leaves no seat unshaken.

Never Mind A Wet Night In Stoke, Bad Nerves Made The Best Of A Cold Tuesday Night At The O2 Institute Birmingham

Bad Nerves rolled into theBad Nerves tonight armed with a setlist built for chaos, and although the room was a little quieter than expected, the people who were there lit the place up. A smaller Tuesday night crowd didn’t dull the spark – instead it made the gig feel like a secret show shared only between the band and the diehards. And the band fed off it.
