Izzy explains: “I wanted to write an anthem that was laced with the real emotion and aftermath of a confusing chaotic breakup but how that can leave you feeling so strong and invincible and excited about the prospect of what life looks like when you come out the other side. It’s funny because when I wrote it I reckon I wasn’t fully there yet but now that I’m releasing it I really do feel like I’m in that space.

“I want listeners to know how exciting life can be when you let go of the things you cling to. Even though the world is shifting slightly there is still this unspoken narrative that a lot of us feel we need to live up to and unfortunately in many people’s eyes still, success is equivalent to whether you have a house, a husband and a child. I’m daring you not to just settle or conform if a relationship isn’t right.”

The release of Crisis follows I Swear I Made You Up which came out at the start of March. 2024 looks to be a great year for rising Izzy S.O as she continues to establish herself further with each release. She kicked off the year with Refuse back in January and the angsty offering didn’t go unnoticed.

Listen to Crisis below:

Izzy S.O’s been working hard and bringing her A game since she launched and things are beginning to fall into place big time. Back In November last year she released her sophomore EP Silly Me. The impressive 5-track body of work was a powerful coming of age moment that scooped much support amongst tastemakers.

Born in the West Midlands, Izzy S.O was raised in a creative household with plenty of space for musical expression. As a huge lover of books, she naturally gravitated towards poetry writing as a creative catharsis. Later this evolved into a natural talent for lyricism and over the pandemic she had the opportunity to develop herself sonically with producer Dustin Dooley.

With two brilliant EP’s out in the wild, Izzy has cemented her sound which toes a line between pop-rock and indie with nods towards grunge. She’s even scooped multiple plays on Radio 1 and BBC Introducing!

Pulling inspiration from the female greats such as Alanis Morisette, Mazzy Star and Avril Lavigne, Izzy’s authentic expression and gift for storytelling has been winning many hearts along the way. “I hope that my music can help people in the ways that songs have helped me in the past.”
