Kaiser Chiefs Extend 20th Anniversary ‘Employment’ Celebrations With 2026 UK Tour

by | Aug 15, 2025

Fresh from a summer that saw them storm Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage, dazzle Alexandra Palace Park and shake the foundations of Leeds’ Temple Newsam Park in a euphoric hometown set, Kaiser Chiefs have announced a new 2026 UK tour to keep the party going.

The More Employment tour will see the Leeds legends hit 12 cities across the country next February, a victory lap marking two decades since their era-defining debut album Employment first sent them stratospheric. It’s a summer that also saw the band deliver a barnstorming headline set at Latitude Festival, transforming Henham Park’s Obelisk Arena into a mass singalong as they rattled through Employment classics and festival favourites to a crowd roaring every word back at them.

Frontman Ricky Wilson – never one to miss the chance for a sharp quip – framed the announcement with typical wit: “This summer, we played a load of shows to mark the release of our debut album Employment. It went well. Probably better than our first summer 20 years ago. It was the year after that first year that things really took off… so we hope you will join us in February to help celebrate with us ‘the year it really took off’. If you were with us the first time, or unfortunately missed out due to other commitments, we hope you will join us for a joyous lap of honour. (Plus, I spent quite a bit on a new blazer and want to get my money’s worth).”

The run kicks off at Live In Bradford on 13th February 2026, before taking in Manchester, Stockton, Dundee, Glasgow, London’s Eventim Apollo and beyond. Tickets go on sale Friday 22nd August at 9am.

The announcement follows July’s China Anniversary edition of Employment, remastered at Abbey Road Studios and packed with bonus material hand-picked from the band’s own vaults. The 2005 debut remains one of the UK’s most successful first albums, spending over 17 months in the Official Top 40, shifting more than 2.1 million copies and earning 7× Platinum status. With anthems like I Predict A Riot, Oh My God, Everyday I Love You Less And Less and Modern Way, it cemented Kaiser Chiefs as a mainstay on arena stages and festival headline slots worldwide.

Formed in Leeds in 2000, the band – Ricky Wilson, Simon Rix, Andrew ‘Whitey’ White, Nick ‘Peanut’ Baines and Vijay Mistry – have released eight studio albums (two of them UK No. 1s), scored nine Top 40 singles, including the chart-topping Ruby, and collected three Brit Awards plus an Ivor Novello for Employment. Along the way, they’ve toured with U2, Foo Fighters and Green Day, and sold over eight million albums globally.

With the More Employment tour, they’re inviting fans – old and new – to celebrate the album that started it all. If this summer’s high-energy festival appearances are anything to go by, February’s shows will be a joyous, hands-in-the-air celebration of one of the UK’s most beloved bands. Blazers optional, singing along mandatory.
