by | Apr 24, 2024

Now a mainstay of the UK’s festival season, London’s BST Hyde Park is the one to watch to catch the best of the world’s contemporary musical talent delivering incredible one-day events in the centre of the capital. The event has drawn appearances from incredible and diverse acts in years past, drawing the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Take That, P!NK, Blackpink, Guns N’ Roses and Billy Joel … and that was just in 2023!

2024 aims to up the ante further, with one-off shows from Fleetwood Mac legend Stevie Nicks and Australian pop icon Kylie nestling in among what will become days to remember from Nashville-based rockers Kings Of Leon, St. Louis-hailing R&B and hip-hop star SZA, Country sensation Morgan Wallen, K-Pop superstars Stray Kids, Italian tenor supreme Andrea Bocelli, the queen of country pop Shania Twain and British pop superstar Robbie Williams!

Stevie Nicks has played a pivotal role in shaping the global music scene. Best known for her iconic contributions to the rock band Fleetwood Mac, Nicks joined the group in 1975, introducing her distinctive voice, poetic songwriting, and captivating stage presence. Her impact on the group’s success during the late 1970s and early 1980s, particularly with the release of the highly acclaimed album Rumours, solidified her as a musical powerhouse. That record sold over 40 million copies worldwide, making it the 5th best-selling album of the 1970s and the 9th best-selling album of all time.

Beyond her contributions to Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks has had a significant solo career that further cements her enduring influence. Hits like Edge of Seventeen and Stand Back showcase her versatility and unique style. Nicks’ ability to transcend musical boundaries, coupled with her trailblazing role as a woman in rock, has inspired generations of artists, including some of recent collaborators Miley Cyrus and Lana Del Rey. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Fleetwood Mac in 1998 and as a solo artist in 2019, Stevie Nicks continues to be celebrated not only for her musical prowess but also as a symbol of resilience and creativity in the ever-evolving musical landscape.

Of her return to London’s day festival series, Kylie said: “I can’t wait to return to BST Hyde Park this summer. My last appearance at this iconic event was in 2015 and it was a truly unforgettable experience. So excited to see you all again!” Kylie’s glittering career has seen her amass sales of over 80 million records worldwide, 5 billion streams, 7 UK No.1 singles and 9 UK No.1 albums. Kylie is the only female artist to score a No.1 album in 5 consecutive decades in the UK. Her multiple awards include 3 BRIT Awards, 18 ARIA Awards, 2 MTV Awards and 2 Grammy Awards. In September2023, she released her No.1 album, Tension, which features the international smash hit single, Padam Padam, which earned Kylie her second Grammy Award earlier this year for Best Pop Dance Recording.

A distinct force in contemporary R&B, SZA has set herself apart with a vulnerable and casually poetic songwriting style and a voice conveying a multitude of emotions with subtle twists and turns. She established herself with a trio of spaced-out EPs and collaborations with the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj, and Rihanna, and continued her ascent with Ctrl (2017), a Top Ten album that resulted in five Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist. These accolades proved to be no fluke, as SZA earned almost as many Grammy nominations the next year by assisting Kendrick Lamar with All The Stars, a Top Ten hit, only one in a slew of platinum singles she has scored as a headliner or featured artist. Her rich and complex second album, SOS (2022), went straight to No.1 on the Billboard 200, produced four Top Ten pop singles – including the chart-topping revenge fantasy Kill Bill – and earned the artist three Grammy awards.

Scottish singer-songwriter Paolo Nutini joins the line-up as a special guest. With a soulful voice and a gift for storytelling, Nutini’s 2006 debut album These Streets was an instant sensation in the UK, reaching Number 3 in the Official Charts amidst a flurry of critical acclaim. His second record Sunny Side Up hit Number 1 a few years later, and his third album followed suit, after which the BRIT Award nominee took a hiatus. To much anticipation from fans, Nutini returned in 2022 with Last Night In The Bittersweet, topping the charts once more.
