Matt Pearce, guitarist and founding member of hard rock band Voodoo Six released his debut album Gotta Get Home in May 2019. Pearce’s solo project group, going under the name Matt Pearce & The Mutiny are an altogether more bluesy, funky, soulful affair than the band which initially made his name. A day after its release, Gotta Get Home was at number one in the Amazon Best Selling Blues Albums and Hot New Releases charts, while garnering an amazing collection of glowing reviews from the Blues and Rock press.
The self-produced album features Matt as lead vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter, aided and abetted by some top tier, London blues scene talent including: Joe Lazarus (drums), Jon Moody (keys), Kez Gunes (bass), and female vocalist Acantha Lang.
Says Matt: “I wanted to combine the sounds that I love: rocking blues and funky, soulful grooves. I could call it a ‘Funky Soul-a-delic Blues Rock Jam Thing’, but you can just call it a seriously funky blues band, like the Black Crowes playing Prince songs, or vice versa…”
Matt Pearce & The Mutiny’s first steps into the live arena in 2019 were a huge success with storming shows at HRH Blues and HRH CROWS, Winterstorm, The British Blues Invasion in Moscow, Cambridge Rock Festival, and a headline London show at The Grace (formally Upstairs at The Garage).
The band follow up these fantastic performances with a new set of spring dates as detailed below:
