Legendary Scottish musician Midge Ure has announced an ambitious new UK tour for 2026, celebrating the release of his forthcoming album A Man Of Two Worlds. The run of shows will begin in May and June, with additional November dates added due to strong demand.
Launching alongside the album’s release on 8th May, the A Man Of Two Worlds Tour promises a uniquely immersive live experience. Rather than a straightforward greatest-hits set, Ure has crafted the show as a continuous musical journey, blending classic songs and fan favourites with cinematic instrumental pieces drawn from across his career.
The accompanying double album — Ure’s first new studio material in 12 years — reflects that same dual concept. Divided into two halves, the record features eight instrumental compositions alongside eight vocal tracks, exploring the contrasting sides of the artist’s musical identity.
Explaining the concept, Ure says: “Almost every album I’ve made over the past 40+ years has featured at least one instrumental track. For this album I wanted to explore that further, showing two sides of what I do. The Man Of Two Worlds Tour reflects this idea, combining instrumentals I’ve written over the years with songs, album tracks and fan favourites side by side, taking the audience on a journey.”
The tour continues a busy period of live performances for Ure, following a sold-out 70th birthday concert at the Royal Albert Hall in 2023 and a major UK tour in 2024. Known for continually evolving his stage shows, the new production aims to balance nostalgia with reinvention.
Across a career spanning more than four decades, Ure has played a central role in shaping British pop and rock. From early success with Slik to his work alongside Glen Matlock in The Rich Kids, he later became a defining figure of the 1980s through his involvement with Ultravox and Visage.
Beyond his own bands, Ure also played a pivotal role in one of the most significant moments in music history — co-writing and producing the charity single Do They Know It’s Christmas? and helping organise the landmark Live Aid concert.
With numerous awards including an Ivor Novello Award and a GRAMMY® Award win to his name, Ure continues to push his creative boundaries — and A Man Of Two Worlds marks another ambitious chapter in an already storied career.
Among the tour’s highlights will be a special London performance at the Barbican Hall on 25th May, offering fans the chance to experience the new material and classic songs in one of the capital’s most celebrated concert venues.
