London’s favourite pop festival is back in 2019 with its fourth edition. Once again to be held at its new home of South East London’s Brockwell Park in leafy Herne Hill, just a stone’s throw from Brixton, Mighty Hoopla has announced that none other than the legendary Chaka Khan will be headlining this year!
Having sold over 70 million records and won 10 Grammy Awards, the legendary funk & soul queen will bring her classic hits (and acclaimed, Switch-produced new album, Hello Happiness) to Brockwell Park on Saturday 8th June. This follows Mighty Hoopla’s glorious first wave of artists announced for this year, with early names spanning cross-generational pop icons like All Saints, Bananarama, Samantha Mumba, Tove Lo, Jamelia and Liberty X.
Last year’s massive event saw the likes of TLC, Belinda Carlisle, Spice Girl Mel C, Louise and Nadine Coyle join the likes of Lily Allen, MNEK and Betty Who? In celebrating all things pop.
Created by the likes of East Creative, Sean Rowley (Guilty Pleasures), Ally Wolf (The Grand) and John Burgess (Bugged Out), London’s alternative club culture is celebrated in the great outdoors at Mighty Hoopla, making it stand out from the plethora of events littering the summer scene, while spreading the message of inclusiveness, tolerance and, most of all, fun!
Subject to license, Mighty Hoopla will take place in Brockwell Park on 8th June 2019. Early-bird tickets are on sale now at: www.mightyhoopla.com
