Multi-Platinum Artist James Arthur Announces New Album ‘PISCES’

by | Dec 8, 2024

After the overwhelming success of his chart-topping album Bitter Sweet Love, James Arthur is ready to take his fans on a deeply personal musical journey with his highly anticipated sixth studio album, PISCES, set for release on March 21, 2025.

Following the emotional resonance of his latest single, ADHD – released in November 2024 – PISCES continues the singer’s exploration of vulnerability, mental health, and self-acceptance, but with a fresh, more experimental sound. A departure from his previous works, PISCES is an intimate reflection of his’ personal journey, blending dreamy, ethereal production with his signature raw emotion.

As the title suggests, PISCES is deeply rooted in Arthurs’ own astrological identity. The album’s themes mirror the duality and complexity of being a Pisces – a dreamer, sensitive and deeply introspective. Arthur says: “I’m a Pisces, and I’ve always resonated with the characteristics of a Pisces when you look into it – being a dreamer and quite sensitive. All the songs on this album are a small part of me and the building blocks of who I am. Pisces felt like the logical title to tie everything together.”

The album marks a bold sonic evolution for James Arthur, who has always been known for his powerful, raspy vocals and emotional ballads. This time, he embraces a more subdued, atmospheric approach, with softer, dreamier sounds to complement his storytelling. “I wanted this album to have a different feel to any other project. People have come to expect big, chesty, emotional, raspy vocals and ballads from me. I like to think I’ve got a few strings to my bow and I don’t really ever aim to do one thing. It was as simple as me wanting to approach the songs and my vocal delivery in a more gentle way and make more dreamy sounds,” he shares.

Arthur explains the inspiration behind the album, saying, “I wrote 95% of this record with Steve Solomon, who I’ve worked with on previous projects. We have a lot of songs in us as a writing/production combo, and we surrounded ourselves with top musicians to inspire us and create something really special. It was fun to put the parameter and concept of Pisces into the songwriting process. I wanted to give a personal insight and let fans into how I feel generally, which made it really open and gave me room to experiment. It really got the creative juices flowing. I feel like this project is the most personal to me, the reins are off. I really feel all of these songs are part of me, they make the hair on the back of my neck stand up.”

For James, PISCES isn’t just about personal expression – it’s also about creating an emotional connection with his listeners. “I wanted to make music to make people feel, and give fans an insight into who I really am – the ups and the downs, the dreams and the reality of being a Pisces – the duality is really reflected in these songs. I also wanted to showcase a new side and some new sounds from me, showing people another, deeper layer.”

Sarah Hollins Unleashes Ferocious Feminist Rage On New Single ‘Mother’

New Jersey-born and Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Sarah Hollins is no stranger to telling hard truths through even harder songs — and with her new single “Mother”, dropping just in time for Mother’s Day Weekend 2025, she has crafted her most uncompromising and timely release to date. Produced by Erik Kertes (Michael Bublé, Shakira, Jewel, Melissa Etheridge), the track is a snarling, defiant ode to the kind of feminine rage that rarely gets the sonic space it deserves.
