The final headliner for 2019’s All Points East events have been unveiled as none other than London’s own Mumford & Sons! Not only that, but they are putting on one of their acclaimed Gentlemen Of The Road events – festival days fully curated by the band, including hand-picked acts the guys are excited about held in locations generally not toured so heavily. And while London is arguably one of the most heavily toured cities by musical acts in the world, Victoria Park – in the East London borough of Tower Hamlets – will become a welcome home for the eclectic line-up brought forth by the Mumford lads.
This news comes as Mumford & Sons continue to tour their massive fourth album Delta across North American arenas, following a European run soon after the record dropped in November. Read all about the goings on at their O2 Arena show in London here.
The band will hit Victoria Park on Saturday 1st June, and are proud to welcome British rap and grime pioneer Dizzee Rascal in support, Texas’ peerless R&B Grammy Award winner Leon Bridges, long-standing indie-rock favourites The Vaccines, and recent BRITs Critics’ Choice winner Sam Fender. The fast-rising Brit Jade Bird, Ireland’s favourite new son Dermot Kennedy, Australian singer songwriter Gretta Ray and Canadian dream-pop band Dizzy conclude the first acts to join Mumford & Sons for the first weekend of the festival season.
All Points East returns Victoria Park for a second year, following a massive sold-out 2018 debut that established a new and essential music event in central London. Gentlemen Of The Road is Mumford & Sons’ quickly established community-minded touring festival. Beginning in 2012, and already taken around the globe with weekend stopovers in Ireland, the US, Australia and 2017’s Lattitude festival in Suffolk, each and every event puts due prominence on the town or city they arrive in, ensuring the local community are as involved with its planning as they want to be, and offering a spotlight on the locale to a huge audience.
The other headline acts already announced for All Points East 2019 are: The Chemical Brothers, The Strokes, Christine And The Queens, Bring Me The Horizon and Bon Iver with a massive line-up of supporting acts across the six events across two weekends.
