Muse have officially ushered in a new era, announcing their tenth studio album The Wow! Signal alongside the release of its towering new single Be With You.
Due for release on 26th June, the album follows 2022’s Will Of The People and finds the Devon trio once again leaning into their signature blend of sci-fi concepts, political undercurrents and stadium-sized sonics.
The band – fronted by Matt Bellamy alongside Chris Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard – have built a career on pushing boundaries, evolving from the raw alt-rock of their early releases into one of the most ambitious and theatrical acts in modern music. With multiple UK No.1 albums, GRAMMY® Awards and a reputation for spectacular live shows, Muse remain one of Britain’s most influential rock exports.
In true Muse fashion, the announcement of The Wow! Signal arrived with a suitably outlandish twist. The band launched a custom device high into the atmosphere to premiere the video for Be With You, effectively debuting their new material from the edge of space and reinforcing the cosmic themes at the heart of the project.
The single itself is unmistakably Muse – opening with a dramatic, almost ecclesiastical introduction before surging into a widescreen mix of synths, heavy riffs and soaring vocals. Lyrically, it balances introspection with grand, existential ideas, hinting at an album that explores humanity’s place within a vast and unknowable universe.
Taking its title from the mysterious 1977 radio signal long associated with the possibility of extraterrestrial life, The Wow! Signal is said to revolve around ideas of cosmic communication and the search for meaning beyond Earth. The record will feature ten tracks, including the previously previewed Unravelling, which debuted live in 2025 and pointed towards a heavier, more experimental direction.
Now over two decades into their career, Muse continue to redefine their sound without losing the bombast and ambition that first set them apart. If Be With You is any indication, The Wow! Signal promises another expansive, high-concept chapter from a band that have never done things by halves.
