National Album Day: Choose Your Weapon by Hiatus Kaiyote

When Orville Peck made a triumphant return to the UK back in June, he made some promises; one was that he’d be back very soon, and the other that a new album would be coming much sooner than we expected. By God, did he deliver on those promises. Within two months, he released his fourth album Mule, played an intimate album launch show at Rough Trade, and now he’s back again for An Evening With… at O2 Kentish Town Forum, where we get to hear him play his new album in its entirety.

Poppy is entering the gaming world with Poppy Secret Run, a new interactive musical experience created in collaboration with Paris-based creative technology studio SoWhen?, launching exclusively in Fortnite on 23rd October. Available for a limited time until 23 November, the experience invites fans to step inside the singer’s surreal universe, combining music, exploration and player-driven choices in an immersive journey built around her song Time Will Tell.

Alt-rock and pop-punk artist NOAHFINNCE has released WONKY, a raw, acoustic-led new single that explores self-acceptance, individuality and the pressure to change to meet other people’s expectations. The release marks a more stripped-back moment for the singer-songwriter, arriving ahead of his UK headline tour, which begins in Cardiff on 22nd October.

Sacramento-born punk rock outfit Destroy Boys have announced their new album, FOIE GRAS, set for release on 5 March via Epitaph Records. Alongside the announcement, the band have shared lead single Hysteria, accompanied by an unsettling new music video that draws on analogue horror, psychological thrillers and the darker corners of internet culture.

Toploader have returned with Sleepyhead, their first new music in almost a decade, marking an exciting new chapter for the British band behind the multi-platinum album Onka’s Big Moka and global smash hit Dancing In The Moonlight. The release arrives as the band continue their intimate UK headline tour, bringing their celebrated live show to venues across the country throughout October.
