Pistol Daisys Embrace The Sweet & Sinister On New Single ‘Honey’ Ahead Of Debut EP And European Tour

by | Aug 2, 2025

Rising Glasgow-based trio Pistol Daisys have returned with their most seductive and sonically ambitious release yet, dropping their new single Honey, complete with an official video and B-side Wolves. Built around glossy synths, infectious grooves and emotionally jagged edges, Honey marks a bold new chapter for the alt-pop outfit, led by vocalists Belly and Lorna Lynn, alongside producer-drummer Lewis Kelly. A dazzling fusion of disco-pop sheen and lyrical self-reckoning, the song flips the narrative on traditional heartbreak anthems—offering a perspective from the villain rather than the victim.

“Sometimes it’s easier to pretend you’re innocent,” Belly explains. “But we wanted to write about owning the part of you that can be selfish or reckless. Honey is about knowing you’ve been the problem—and still feeling drawn to the sweetness of it.”

The B-side Wolves builds on this darker introspection, trading guilt for grit. Steered by thumping percussion and atmospheric textures, the track charts a defiant reclaiming of identity after emotional fallout. Together, both songs reveal a more mature and stylised sound for the band—whose genre-blurring approach continues to evolve with each release.

Produced entirely by Kelly, Honey and Wolves offer a taste of what’s to come from the band’s debut EP, slated for release in October 2025. Known for their mix of vulnerability and attitude, Pistol Daisys are carving a unique niche at the intersection of indie-pop, synth-rock, and gritty storytelling.

The release also kicks off a busy live schedule, with UK festival appearances throughout August—including slots at Belladrum, Party at the Palace, and BBC Introducing’s Endless Summer Festival—before the trio take their high-energy show to clubs across Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands this autumn.

With an EP around the corner and a rapidly growing reputation on the live circuit, Pistol Daisys are set to bloom far beyond their Glasgow roots. For fans of alt-pop with bite and synth-driven confessionals that sting as much as they shimmer, Honey hits the spot.
