The unmistakable voice behind Fine Young Cannibals, Roland Gift, returns this winter with a brand-new festive single, Everybody Knows It’s Christmas, out now. The release coincides with news that his 40 Years of Songs by Fine Young Cannibals tour has been extended into May 2026 following overwhelming demand.

Gift’s latest track has all the makings of a future seasonal classic — a glam-rock-inspired, soul-infused celebration that blends ‘60s nostalgia with his trademark warmth and charisma. With its chiming bells, jubilant rhythm, and uplifting vocal, Everybody Knows It’s Christmas channels the spirit of timeless holiday favourites while adding a distinctly Roland Gift twist. “Wherever you are I hope this song brings a bit of warmth, a smile, and maybe a bit of that Christmas magic your way,” Gift said of the single.

Co-written and co-produced with long-time collaborator Ben Barson (Gabrielle, Tina Turner), the track features cover artwork by celebrated British artist Harry Pye, renowned for his playful, lo-fi pop aesthetic. The single is available digitally as well as on limited-edition CD and 7” vinyl (500 copies each), with some copies including an exclusive Christmas card personally signed by Gift.

The festive release follows a triumphant year for the singer, who recently joined Belinda Carlisle on her UK tour and performed a sold-out headline show at London’s Palladium to kick off the Fine Young Cannibals anniversary celebrations. With tickets flying, six new May 2026 dates have been added, including performances in Manchester, Liverpool, Leicester, Bristol, and Glasgow.

To accompany the single, 5th December will also see the release of FYC40, a career-spanning compilation celebrating Fine Young Cannibals’ enduring legacy. The collection features hits like She Drives Me Crazy, Good Thing, and Johnny Come Home, alongside reworks and remixes from Soul II Soul’s Jazzie B, Norman Cook, Prince Paul (De La Soul), Arthur Baker, Roger Sanchez, and others. A deluxe 4CD/DVD box set will include all the band’s videos, a restored 1989 live concert, and a selection of rare BBC performances.

With Everybody Knows It’s Christmas, Roland Gift continues to blend his timeless voice with contemporary flair — offering a dose of soul, sparkle, and sincerity just in time for the holidays.

Midweek Metal Mass: Lacuna Coil Blaze Through Leeds Stylus

Italian goth heavyweights Lacuna Coil turn Tuesday into a blackout ritual at Leeds Stylus, backed by a fired-up opening assault from Florida bruisers Nonpoint.

Nonpoint hit the stage like they’ve been itching for it all day. Elias Soriano stalks the mic with clipped precision, spitting hooks and commands in equal measure. Robb Rivera goes straight for the gut behind the kit, while Adam Woloszyn grinds out bass lines with industrial weight. Guitarist’s Jaysin Zeilstra and Rasheed Thomas add bite and distortion, feeding the noise without ever tipping it into clutter. The band sound more drilled-in than on their last UK run — tighter, sharper, still proudly abrasive.
