Sinkhole – The Dynamic Return of Keith M Thomson

by | May 13, 2022

Keith M Thomson, frontman and songwriter for the rollickingly enjoyable cult favourites The Penny Black Remedy, is releasing his first new song since his pre-pandemic solo album A Death In Kreuzberg.

The foreboding title of Sinkhole nods to its brooding lyrics yet is in contrast to the furiously catchy chorus, which is further adrenalised by sublime backing vocals from long-time creative accomplice and TPBR co-singer Marijana Hajdarhodzic.

Sinkhole is released digitally and on limited edition 7” clear vinyl on the Super8Singles Club label on Friday 13th May 2022.

A melting pot of electronic beats, reverberating twangy guitars and fuzzed up synths creates a shimmering, rollercoaster feast that draws on the universally tumultuous nature of the last few years.

An imposing, monochrome video accompanies the single. It was directed by Hajdarhodzic, in Dubrovnik, Croatia, and edited by Gavin Carroll in London, UK.

The single’s b-side, Verena In The Mornings, is a hypnotic tale of isolation, addiction and deteriorating mental health. Both songs are taken from Keith’s forthcoming third solo album, to be released early Summer 2022.

The 7” vinyl is available from the Super8Singles Club Bandcamp Page.

The single is also available to buy digitally from iTunes and Amazon etc, and is fully streamable on Spotify, iTunes Music, Deezer and all the usual streaming platforms.

The video is available to view on the KMT website and his YouTube channel.
