Oxford indie-psych outfit Swervedriver have announced additional UK dates for their Raise At 35 tour, celebrating the 35th anniversary of their seminal debut album Raise.
Originally released in 1991 via Creation Records, Raise quickly became a cornerstone of early ’90s alternative rock. Drawing inspiration from the likes of My Bloody Valentine, Dinosaur Jr. and Hüsker Dü, the record established Swervedriver’s signature blend of swirling guitars and driving rhythms, earning a lasting reputation as one of the era’s defining releases.
The band previously announced a special London show at Village Underground on 24th October, which has already sold out. In response to demand, further dates have now been added across the UK, with stops confirmed in Bristol, Oxford, Leeds and Glasgow.
Frontman Adam Franklin said: “Join us in celebrating 35 years of Raise this October & November. We’ll be performing the album in its entirety, from needle-down to run-off groove.”
The tour will see the band revisit the album in full, offering fans the chance to experience the record as it was originally intended. It also marks a celebration of Swervedriver’s enduring influence, with their early material continuing to resonate across modern dream pop and indie-psych scenes.
Following their initial run of albums throughout the 1990s, the band returned in 2015 with I Wasn’t Born To Lose You and followed it up with 2019’s Future Ruins, reaffirming their place as a vital creative force well beyond their early years.
With the London date already at capacity, demand for the newly announced shows is expected to be high as fans prepare to celebrate one of British alternative rock’s most enduring records.
