The Chicks Announce World Tour

by | Feb 15, 2023

The 13-time GRAMMY® award-winning, multi-platinum selling global superstars, The Chicks (formally of the Dixie variety), have announced their return to the global stage with The Chicks 2023 World Tour. Produced by Live Nation, the 37-date mega tour kicks off 20th June in Olso, Norway at Spektrum, with stops throughout the UK and Europe before returning to North America.

“This last year on the road has been a whirlwind for us, but it’s time to bring the party to the UK and Europe,” The Chicks said of the dates. “We can’t wait to see everyone and play for all our fans across the pond – it’s been a long time coming, and we can’t wait to get back!”

The Dallas, Texas-hailing Country music legends will also be bringing along GRAMMY® award-winning country music sensation Maren Morris to open their shows. A double treat for Country Music fans! The run of shows will be The Chicks’ first dates in the UK for seven years and support will come from Maren Morris. General tickets on sale for all Europe & UK dates begin on Friday, 17 February at 10am local.

After nearly 14 years, The Chicks released their fifth studio album GASLIGHTER to rave reviews in July 2020 via Columbia Records. The 12-track record was co-produced by award-winning singer-songwriter, producer, and close friend of the band and Bleachers frontman, Jack Antonoff. The record was released a month after the group dropped “Dixie” from their name, citing a desire to have done so for many years following the association of the word to American slavery.

While dates across the UK and Ireland have been announced, any London shows are conspicuous by their absence. The timing of their tour is also a little coincidental given a certain rather large music festival held in Somerset takes place this year between the 21st and 25th June.

2023 UK & Ireland Dates:

JUNE
27th – Cardiff Castle, Cardiff
28th – OVO Arena, Glasgow
30th – 3Arena, Dublin

JULY
2nd – Utilita Arena, Birmingham
4th – AO Arena, Manchester

Wolf Alice @ The O2 (Neil Lupin)

From Dive Bars To The Dome: Wolf Alice’s Homecoming At The O2 Is A Career-Defining Triumph

There was a crackle in the air before Wolf Alice even stepped onstage, the kind of charged, anticipatory energy that only comes when a band returns to the city that made them. The Saints @ Electric ballroom (Peter McDonnell)

The Miraculous Second Coming Of The Saints ’73-’78 At London’s Electric Ballroom

There are comebacks, and then there are resurrections. For punk devotees, the return of The Saints ’73–’78 — the latest live incarnation of the legendary Melbourne outfit — firmly belonged in the latter category. With original members Ed Kuepper and Ivor Hay at the helm, and an inspired line-up completed by Mick Harvey, Mark Arm, Peter Oxley, and a three-piece brass section led by Terry Edwards, the Electric Ballroom felt less like a gig and more like a communal rite of appreciation for one of punk’s most quietly revolutionary bands.
