The Heavy Return With Sixth Album: AMEN

by | Apr 21, 2023

Trans-Atlantic four-piece The Heavy have today released their sixth studio record AMEN via their own Bad Son Recordings and it is packed full of blues drama, the crunch of prime hip-hop and garage punk’s visceral energy. AMEN has been recorded at Rockfield Studios, produced with Tchad Blake (The Black Keys, U2) and engineered with Real World Studios’ Joe Jones.

The ambiguous songs on the powerful record tackle turmoils across the likes of relationships, the environment and world leaders. Their return is proving a hit and the tracks on AMEN are sure to join their enviable list of perennial songs which have soundtracked the likes of the Super Bowl, swept Obama into a second term and become mainstays of radio, TV, cinema, gaming and have even been blasted out in real life battle zones.

The new singles from AMEN including I Feel The Love and Hurricane Coming have been getting great support from 6Music and lots of airplay in the US too. The latter has also been soundtracking the Six Nations rugby and the Premier League and England national football games.

Regarding single Without A Woman frontman Kelvin Swaby says: “It’s astounding that right now in the 2020s, an age-old and point-blank ignorance remains. It is being given oxygen every day in way too many corners of the world. It’s unbelievable. Women should receive the acknowledgment, value, and respect that they absolutely deserve. I know I definitely wouldn’t be here without a woman. Would you?”

In addition to the album dropping, The Heavy have also put out latest single Bad Muthafucker. Check out the video for the new tune below:

The band recently played two intimate sold out shows in the UK and will be returning to the UK for a tour in September which will kick off with a show at London’s KOKO on 15th Sept.

Trent And Atticus Nine Inch Nail It At The O2 Arena

Every act craves that strong connection with their audience – but how do you achieve this in a cavernous space like The O2 Arena, filled to the brim with around 20,000 fans (all, naturally, dressed in black)? Well, in typical belligerent style, Nine Inch Nails meet this challenge head on – treating us to a set by turns poetic and punishing, and despite the odd technical hiccup, really delivering that all important connection.
