Well-known for their exciting cinematographic and musical events, Rock & Roll Cinema inaugurated the start of their new festival : Soundscreen Music and Film Festival. Taking place in different venues across London from March 21st to March 28th, the first event was hosted at the legendary venue The 100 Club on Oxford Street. The program that night was one of the highlights of the festival. Brix & The Extricated premiered their documentary Uncaged, which was then followed by a live show from the band.

Brix Smith Start is one of the true female icons of the alternative rock scene, a former member of The Fall, along with Paul and Steve Hanley, respectively drummer and bassist, and guitarist Steve Trafford, she rose back from the unforgettable 80’s indie band’s ashes and returned “to extricate the world”, bringing along Irish guitarist Jason Brown in the process.

The Uncaged film crew followed the band to live shows in venues and festivals until their album release, and while discovering what The Extricated are all about, we also learn secrets about their reformation and the process behind the new record.

Brix & The Extricated recently released their critically acclaimed new album Part 2 and came down to the 100 Club to celebrate the release of their new single Valentino on April 27th. Known for their lively and electrifying shows they did not disappoint, and it is in front of a packed house that Brix & The Extricated delivered the perfect live show.

Starting with the brand new and unreleased song Alaska, Brix arrived on stage blindfolded. Mysterious and hypnotising, she got her audience’s attention in a matter of seconds and kept surprising us throughout the show by playing an amazing selection of psychedelic and raw numbers only they know how to play! We even got the privilege to hear two other new numbers never played live before. With a vintage glam touch from the 80’s, Brix & The Extricated invented a new signature sound that is a clever mix of powerful garage, anthemic punk and glamorous indie rock. A must-have for rock lovers, and for those who haven’t heard the news yet, a guaranteed gem of catchy, magnetic and mesmerising tunes!

It has been said that more summer live dates are to be announced soon, and we could not be more impatient!

Good Grief, Bastille Show No Bad Blood At The O2 Arena

Tonight was a night of reflection. Of celebration. Fifteen years in, Bastille sound as good, and appeal to more people than ever. The fourth time the London band have played the biggest arena in the capital and they feel at home on this stage this size, with their visuals, their anthems and their devout relationship with their fans, they belong here.

Amy Macdonald Warms A Frozen Hammersmith Apollo With Heart, Humour & Huge Hits

“Are we having a nice time so far? Are we getting a bit warmer?” Amy Macdonald grins, peering out at a Hammersmith Apollo audience bundled into coats and scarves. It’s a question that becomes a running joke throughout the night — because despite the November chill and the decidedly frugal heating, Macdonald sets about warming the 5,000-capacity venue the only way she knows how: with humour, heart, and a powerhouse performance that leaves no seat unshaken.

Never Mind A Wet Night In Stoke, Bad Nerves Made The Best Of A Cold Tuesday Night At The O2 Institute Birmingham

Bad Nerves rolled into theBad Nerves tonight armed with a setlist built for chaos, and although the room was a little quieter than expected, the people who were there lit the place up. A smaller Tuesday night crowd didn’t dull the spark – instead it made the gig feel like a secret show shared only between the band and the diehards. And the band fed off it.
