Under The Waves By Bella Rios Premiere

by | Jan 19, 2019

Bella Rios is a multi-instrumentalist Singer-Songwriter residing in Chicago, Illinois, playing guitar, piano, bass and saxophone and guess what she is fifteen years old.

Her newest single, Under The Waves, premiered her, shows her lyrical and vocal prowess. Her songwriting shows an understanding of the world beyond her age, if we were throwing comparisons to other songsters at this age then perhaps think a female Jackson Browne.

We asked Bella what spark ignited the song and how did she find the inspiration to complete the songwriting process. She told us “A few years ago, people were spreading rumours about me at school and I lost some of my closest friends because of it. Under The Waves was written for a true friend who stuck with me through everything.”

“I’ve been working on really trying to find and further develop my own sound over the past few months. Under The Waves is a song that was influenced a lot by my acoustic/rock inspirations. I’m really excited for the upcoming releases. My style has progressed, yet remained true to my roots.”

Keep an ear out for future songs by chickening her Facebook page and Instagram stream.

Maya Lane On The Hurt And The Healing: From Vulnerability to Growth

On a rain-soaked evening in London, rising singer-songwriter Maya Lane celebrated the release of her brand-new EP The Hurt And The Healing with an intimate show at The Grace. Just weeks earlier, we had met under sunnier skies at The Long Road Festival, beers and whiskies in hand, denim and sunshine everywhere. Now, umbrellas and storm clouds in tow, it felt fitting that Lane’s new project, a record that navigates through storms towards moments of calm, should arrive on a night like this.
