Victorious Festival, the UK’s biggest metropolitan festival of music and family entertainment, makes a habit of teasing headliner announcements by installing enormous signs, with a ‘Blue Monday’ sign appearing days before New Order were confirmed as the Sunday night headliner of Victorious 2019.
Now, a giant sign ‘FIT BUT U KNOW IT‘, has been erected on the Southsea Castle ramparts which overlook the Victorious Castle Field arena. You don’t need to be an expert in speed completion of The Times crossword to conclude that we’re likely a few days away from an announcement that The Streets are to be a major act at this years’ festival.
Earlier this week, The Streets were revealed to be playing their biggest ever hometown show in Birmingham as the headliner of this year’s MADE Festival, along with headlining London’s South West 4. They were already confirmed as a NASS 2020 headliner back in November.
Victorious Festival has already announced their Friday Night lineup of Ian Brown, The Kooks, Peter Hook and the Light and Terrorvision.
Mancunian legend Brown is billed as the Friday headliner following the release of his seventh album Ripples last year. Festival organisers said: “With a career spanning over 30 years, expect classic hits along with new releases from the former Stone Roses frontman. It’s safe to say Friday’s headliner will set a precedent for the rest of the festival weekend!”
Back in December, Victorious Festival Director Andy Marsh told press: “We’re positive 2020 will be our best line- up to date and we can’t wait to announce the rest of the bill.”
In previous years, the festival has boasted of boosting the local economy by around £10 million and has claimed to be one of the UK’s best value festivals.
Victorious Festival takes place over the weekend of 28 – 30 August, 2020, in the spectacular seaside location of Southsea Common. Tickets are on sale now.
