WREX Announce Biggest Headline Tour To Date Including First-Ever European Run

by | Jun 2, 2026

Brighton alt-rock duo WREX have announced the biggest headline tour of their career, taking their explosive live show across the UK before embarking on their first-ever headline dates throughout mainland Europe this autumn.

The extensive run follows a breakthrough period for the fiercely independent band, who continue to build momentum through relentless touring, festival appearances and the recent release of their acclaimed EP SADWORLD. Kicking off in Blackpool on 24th September, the headline tour will see WREX visit key cities across the UK before crossing the Channel for a string of dates stretching from Belgium to Poland, Austria and Luxembourg.

For vocalist Mae Seaton and guitarist/co-vocalist George Donoghue, the announcement marks another significant milestone in a journey that has been fuelled almost entirely by grassroots support and a relentless work ethic. Over the past year alone, the duo have played more than 50 shows, honing a live performance that has quickly earned them a reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting emerging alternative acts.

The timing couldn’t be better. Their latest EP SADWORLD sees the pair broadening their lyrical scope beyond personal struggles to tackle wider societal anxieties and collective experiences. While themes of uncertainty, self-doubt and modern disconnection remain central to the record, there is an underlying sense of resilience that runs throughout its five tracks.

Speaking about the project, Mae explains that the band’s constant touring has fundamentally changed their perspective on songwriting, allowing them to see how their music resonates with audiences in real time. What began as a creative outlet for two friends working with little more than a laptop has evolved into a shared experience with an ever-growing community of fans.

That connection has been evident throughout 2026. Alongside the headline tour announcement, WREX have secured slots at major alternative festivals including Bloodstock, Rebellion, Burn It Down and Loud Women Festival. Their inclusion on such diverse line-ups highlights the band’s ability to bridge genres, blending elements of alternative rock, modern metal, electronic textures and emotionally charged songwriting into a sound entirely their own.

Since forming in Brighton in 2020, WREX have steadily carved out a unique space within the UK’s alternative scene. Their debut EP This Hell Goes A Long Way Down introduced audiences to brutally honest explorations of anxiety, trauma and social pressures, while SADWORLD expands that vision into something broader and more ambitious.

With their most extensive run of headline dates yet, and their first opportunity to bring their music directly to European audiences, WREX are entering a defining chapter in their rise. If their recent trajectory is anything to go by, this tour could prove to be the moment they move from underground favourites to one of the UK’s most talked-about new alternative acts.
