AURORA Returns With The Conflict Of The Mind

by | Jan 19, 2024

Following the release of her anthemic single Your Blood in November, Norwegian alt-pop sensation AURORA has shared her hypnotic new single The Conflict Of The Mind. Produced and recorded by Chris Greatti (Lady Gaga, Willow, Yungblud, Grimes) in Rosendal, Norway and mixed by Mitch McCarthy (Olivia Rodrigo, Lady Gaga, Conan Gray), The Conflict Of The Mind sees AURORA balancing calming melody to distant lively beats, complemented by her pure and acrobatic voice.

AURORA comments: “I tend to isolate myself when I’m in pain. And with time, I’ve learnt that I’ve deprived the people around me of the great honour of being there for someone you love. Deep in there, beneath all the darkness, there is beauty. Once you’ve truly opened up you’ll find a version of yourself you thought was gone. And it will be beautiful.” She adds “Talk to each other before it’s too late. All families have pain, and I believe talking to each other is an important part of healing. After the storm, comes peace. “

The Conflict of The Mind is the second glimpse of AURORA’s new material since her third, and highest charting album to date, The Gods We Can Touch which went Top 10 in the Official UK Album Chart. In a remarkable return last November, AURORA released Your Blood, which garnered more than two millions views on YouTube. Adding to her multifaceted talent, the 27-year-old also released her very first book last year, also titled The Gods We Can Touch, in collaboration with Decca Records & Faber Music. Due to unprecedented high demand, and sales surpassing 10,000 copies to date, the printing presses had to be relaunched.

The singer co-directed the music video with Kaveh Nabatian (The Barr Brothers), depicting her struggle to fit in, without losing her identity. Check it out below:

Since signing with Decca Records/Glassnote in 2014, the Stavanger, Norway-hailing star’s global fanbase has soared, fuelled by her lively lyrics and unique stage presence. Growing up surrounded by the scenic forests and mountains near Bergen in Norway, Aurora Aksnes has turned her individuality, her independence and her strength of spirit into platinum discs, over a million album sales, 12.6 million monthly listeners and a whopping 10 billion streams. AURORA’s fastest ever streamed single Cure For Me, from 2022’s The Gods We Can Touch, and 2016’s hit Runaway both gained sensational viral success on TikTok, bringing her cinematic and sweeping melodies to a bigger audience than ever before, hitting singles charts and accumulating over 100 billion views on social media.
