Blair Davie Unveil Deeply Personal New EP ‘First And Last’

by | Oct 8, 2025

Scottish singer-songwriter Blair Davie has released their highly anticipated new EP, First And Last, via Giant Music — a six-track collection that captures the rising artist at their most vulnerable, confident, and emotionally raw. Opening track Coming Back Babe sets the tone for the project with a mix of sweeping emotion and cinematic pop energy. Davie describes it as “the song I’ve been most excited to share,” adding: “It bottles up that feeling when you meet that special someone and your life is about to change. When we were writing it, it felt like it was hitting Adele meets Bruce Springsteen — a ballad with huge vocals, monstrous backing harmonies, and so much heart.”

That spirit carries through the EP’s emotional arc — from the tender self-reflection of Crashing The Car to What A Life, which finds Davie introducing a loved one to their Perth hometown for the first time. Wouldn’t Be Right provides a burst of optimism, exploring how to find light in dark times, while the title track First And Last captures the feeling of an enduring, lifelong love. Closing ballad Butterflies rounds off the record with a delicate, heartfelt finale — a fitting end to a project that thrives on honesty and intimacy.

Reflecting on the release, Davie says: “This EP is everything I hoped it would be when I set out making it. It’s raw and honest, joyful and dynamic. It’s a love story — from the first moment you meet someone, through falling head over heels, and watching that love grow with everything you go through together. I’m so happy it’s finally out in the world.”

The release follows a breakthrough year for Davie, whose blend of pop, soul and singer-songwriter storytelling continues to attract a devoted following. Their music — grounded in emotional transparency and a distinctive, powerful vocal delivery — has resonated deeply with audiences across the UK and beyond.

With First And Last marking both a creative milestone and a new chapter, Davie will spend the remainder of 2025 bringing their live show to audiences worldwide. After a summer of major festival appearances including Electric Picnic, Reeperbahn (Hamburg) and London Calling (Amsterdam), they embark on an international headline run with stops in Los Angeles, Brooklyn, London, Glasgow, Dublin, and Manchester.

Born and raised in Perth, now based in London, Davie’s rise has been defined by perseverance and authenticity. Since their early singles — including Stairs, Platform 10, and Him, Hymn — they’ve built a reputation for songs that explore love, loss, and identity with poetic clarity. A seasoned performer from their teenage years, Davie has shared stages with JP Cooper, Emeli Sandé, Sam Fischer, and Fatherson, while performing at The Great Escape, Belladrum, and Sziget Festival.

Their growing acclaim has seen them collect major recognition in recent years, including Amazon Music’s UK Rising Star Award and an Ivor Novello nomination at just 23. With First And Last, Blair Davie continues to prove why they are one of the most exciting and emotionally resonant new voices in British music.
