New York art-rock outfit BODEGA have unveiled infectious new single Weather Me, offering another glimpse of their forthcoming fourth studio album All Inside Aquarium, due for release on 9th October. Alongside the new music, the band have also announced an extensive UK headline tour for November, while guitarist and vocalist Ben Hozie prepares to step behind the camera once again for his latest feature film.

Following the release of lead single Pick Up The Check, Weather Me continues to showcase a band unafraid to evolve. Immediate, melodic and packed with the restless energy that has become synonymous with BODEGA, the track balances angular guitars with a propulsive rhythm section while exploring the overwhelming pace of modern life.
Vocalist and percussionist Nikki Belfiglio says the song was inspired by the relentless stream of information and crises that dominate everyday existence: “This is a track about living in an information kaleidoscope full of everyday grievances alongside very real problems. If you don’t know who or what to prioritise, this kaleidoscope can fracture your everyday existence. You must stand strong and weather the current.”
The single points towards an album that represents another significant step forward for the Brooklyn quintet. While BODEGA first drew acclaim for their sharp, post-punk-inspired sound across releases including Endless Scroll, Broken Equipment and Our Brand Could Be Your Life, All Inside Aquarium deliberately broadens the band’s sonic horizons.
Rather than leaning into the angular post-punk comparisons that have followed them throughout their career, the new record embraces a more expansive alternative rock sound, drawing inspiration from the melodic swagger of late-’80s and early-’90s guitar music. Big riffs, soaring solos and warmer production replace some of the wiry edges of previous releases, while retaining the band’s trademark lyrical intelligence.
Ben Hozie explains that the band’s ambition was to become “more of a proper rock band,” citing influences ranging from The Stone Roses to Jane’s Addiction. Meanwhile Belfiglio notes that the group’s eclectic musical tastes encouraged them to ignore genre boundaries altogether, allowing everything from hardcore to folk influences to sit comfortably alongside one another.
The album was recorded during an extended stay in the UK with producer Matt Peel (Yard Act, Eagulls) at his distinctive studio inside a converted church in Leeds, capturing the chemistry of the band’s live performances in a way previous albums had not. Final mixing duties were handled by Theo Verney, whose recent work with English Teacher and Lime Garden has earned widespread acclaim.
Lyrically, All Inside Aquarium also marks something of a shift. While previous records often tackled overt political themes, the new material focuses more on empathy, personal reflection and poetic storytelling, offering a broader emotional palette without sacrificing the band’s sharp observational edge.
Away from the music, Hozie has also revealed plans for his fourth feature-length film, Jack London Calling, a punk rock romantic comedy that begins filming in Brooklyn later this month. The project features an impressive cast including Katie Alice Greer (Priests), Peter Vack, members of Gustaf, and BODEGA’s own Nikki Belfiglio. The announcement further underlines the band’s long-standing connection between music, visual art and independent filmmaking.
BODEGA have spent much of the year building momentum with high-profile live appearances, including a hometown performance alongside Spoon and Ratboys at Central Park SummerStage. Following sold-out London and Paris dates this September, the band will return to the UK in November for a string of headline shows.
With All Inside Aquarium promising to be their most ambitious and accessible work yet, and Weather Me providing another confident preview, BODEGA continue to demonstrate that constant reinvention remains central to their identity.
