Callum Beattie Shares New Single ‘Always Rains In Glasgow’ Ahead of Huge OVO Hydro Headline Show

by | Nov 20, 2025

Scottish singer-songwriter Callum Beattie has released his new single Always Rains In Glasgow, arriving just days before he takes to the stage for his biggest headline show to date at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on 22nd November. The performance, which sees Beattie step up in front of 14,500 fans, is close to selling out—an extraordinary leap from the early days when he struggled to move 30 advance tickets.

The track closes his forthcoming album INDI, due 23rd January 2026, and offers a poignant snapshot of Beattie’s time adjusting to a new life in Glasgow. Written shortly after he moved to the city, the piano-led ballad blends intimate storytelling with vivid imagery—Buchanan Street, Kelvingrove Park, and teenage mischief—all anchored in the ache of long-distance love.

“Well, it does rain, and rain a lot in Glasgow,” Beattie explains. “The song itself is about missing someone so much that it’s painful. It’s a true love song about being with the person you are destined to be with.”

Reflecting Beattie’s admiration for Leonard Cohen, the track leans heavily on raw honesty—something that defines the broader INDI project. Produced by Joe Cross (Courteeners, The LaFontaines, Louis Tomlinson), the song continues a run of momentum following lead single Two Pretenders, which earned strong radio support and arrived with an ambitious narrative video.

INDI marks a major moment for Beattie: his first fully independent album, and the record he describes as his most personal to date. It’s expected to follow the success of his two previous Scottish Album Chart-toppers. Fans can pre-order the album now, with exclusive variants available via his official store, including three vinyl editions and a bespoke INDI black vodka—some bottles containing prize-winning labels, including one that grants an intimate home performance.

Following the Hydro, Beattie will embark on a run of intimate album-release shows across Scotland in January, many already sold out. A March 2026 tour of England and a newly announced Edinburgh Castle concert on 10th July will follow.
