Chloe Star Confronts Rehab Industry Corruption On Powerful New Single ‘Walking On The Sun’

Rising Los Angeles pop-punk artist Chloe Star has unveiled her powerful new single Walking On The Sun, a deeply personal track inspired by her own experiences navigating the treatment and rehabilitation system during her battle with substance abuse.

Rather than offering a straightforward recovery anthem, the song tackles a subject rarely explored in modern pop-punk: the failings and commercialisation of parts of the rehabilitation industry. Built around driving guitars, soaring melodies and Star’s emotionally charged vocals, Walking On The Sun channels frustration, resilience and ultimately hope into one of her most candid releases to date.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, Star explains: “This song is about the corruption I’ve seen in the treatment and rehab industry, where profit often seems to matter more than genuinely helping people recover. I’ve been through facilities that made me feel like they were more interested in keeping me sick so I would keep coming back.

“Fortunately, I was later blessed to find an incredible rehab centre that truly cared about its clients and wanted them to get better. That experience changed my life, and it was the last rehab centre I ever attended.”

The honesty at the heart of Walking On The Sun continues to establish Chloe Star as an artist unafraid to address difficult topics through her music. Rather than shying away from painful experiences, she channels them into songs that combine pop-punk energy with emotional vulnerability, creating music that feels both deeply personal and widely relatable.

The new single arrives during a breakthrough period for the singer-songwriter. Having steadily built a dedicated following through a string of emotionally honest releases including TNT, Emergency Contact and I Didn’t Wanna Say Goodbye, Star has continued to grow her reputation as one of the genre’s most exciting emerging voices.

Momentum has only increased following a successful run of headline shows across North America and the UK. Earlier this year she brought her energetic live show to audiences in London, Los Angeles, New York and Toronto, with her sold-out London appearance showcasing the explosive stage presence and raw emotional connection that has become central to her rapidly growing fanbase.

Blending infectious hooks with themes of mental health, recovery and self-discovery, Chloe Star is carving out a distinctive space within today’s alternative music landscape. Walking On The Sun may be one of her most confronting songs yet, but it also carries a message of resilience, reflecting the artist’s determination to transform difficult personal experiences into something capable of helping others.

As her profile continues to grow on both sides of the Atlantic, Walking On The Sun suggests Chloe Star is entering a new creative chapter—one built on fearless songwriting, authenticity and an unwavering commitment to telling her own story.
