“Try not to choke on the glitter…”

Foo Fighters have unveiled details of their 12th studio album, Your Favorite Toy, set for release on 24th April via Roswell Records/Columbia Records. The band have also shared the record’s razor-sharp title track, marking their first new music of 2026.

Your Favorite Toy arrives as a jagged, insidious earworm — all stabbing guitars, sinister keyboard accents and a driving rhythmic undercurrent. Over its infectious chorus, Dave Grohl adopts a sardonic edge, delivering the biting refrain: “Someone threw away your favorite toy for good.”

It’s a bold first taste of an album that promises to push the band into fresh sonic territory while retaining the unmistakable hallmarks that have defined their monolithic catalogue. According to Grohl, the track became the creative catalyst for the entire record.

Your Favorite Toy really was the key that unlocked the tone and energetic direction of the new album,” he explains. “We stumbled upon it after experimenting with different sounds and dynamics for over a year, and the day it took shape I knew that we had to follow its lead. It was the fuse to the powder keg of songs we wound up recording for this record. It feels new.”

Recorded at home, Your Favorite Toy was co-produced by the band alongside Oliver Roman, engineered by Roman and mixed by Mark “Spike” Stent. The ten-track album also includes last year’s incendiary single Asking For A Friend, alongside new cuts such as Caught In The Echo, Of All People, Unconditional and Amen, Caveman.

The album’s arrival heralds the band’s sprawling Take Cover world tour, which launches on 10th June at Unity Arena in Oslo, following US festival headline appearances at Welcome To Rockville and BottleRock Napa Valley. It will be the first tour featuring latest drummer Ilan Rubin.

The UK will welcome Foo Fighters for two huge stadium shows at Anfield Stadium in Liverpool this June.
