Rising UK soul duo GeeJay return with their tender new single My Baby, a soulful, piano-led ballad that celebrates the deep, enduring love between parent and child. Arriving as the pair prepare for their biggest headline show to date at Islington Assembly Hall on November 20th, the release marks another milestone in their ascent through the UK’s thriving independent soul scene.

Comprising vocalist Gina Jane and multi-instrumentalist Jay Lobo, GeeJay have built their reputation on a distinct fusion of modern soul, pop, and jazz influences, anchored by Gina’s spellbinding voice and Jay’s warm, groove-driven production. With over 60 million streams and a fast-growing grassroots following, their music has become a soundtrack for optimism and emotional honesty — qualities that shine brighter than ever on My Baby.

Built around a simple yet moving piano melody, the track swells with lush string arrangements and heartfelt lyrics: “No matter your age, no matter the year, no matter the times that we are living through… I’ll be with you, whatever you do.”

It’s a message of timeless love and quiet strength — made even more poignant as the couple recently welcomed their second child. “My Baby was written as a love letter to our daughters,” explains Gina. “It’s about that deep connection you have with your child — the kind of love that sits in your bones and doesn’t fade, no matter how old they get or what life throws at you.”

Entirely written and produced by GeeJay, My Baby joins recent singles My Rock and Young Girl on the duo’s forthcoming second album, 9 Months 3 Days, due for release in early 2026. The record promises to explore themes of family, resilience, and growth — subjects that have long defined the duo’s uplifting approach to storytelling through sound.

GeeJay’s backstory mirrors their music’s authenticity. The pair first met by chance while working at Music & Beans Café in Haringey, North London. What began as shared coffee shifts soon turned into impromptu jam sessions after hours, where their chemistry — both musical and personal — became undeniable. That creative spark has since blossomed into one of the UK’s most promising independent acts.

Their 2024 debut album, What’s The Sun Without The Rain?, introduced GeeJay’s warm blend of soul and pop to a wider audience, earning millions of streams and setting the stage for their biggest year yet. With an ever-growing fanbase and a headline show at Islington Assembly Hall on the horizon, the duo’s journey continues to unfold with authenticity and heart.
