An arena-filling, multi-Platinum Top 10 star in bothSweden and Norway, Albin Lee Meldau has teamed up with the UK’s chart-topping singer-songwriter Jack Savoretti for the new single Hold Your Head Up. The duo premiered the song last week when Jack joined Albin on stage at his huge 20,000 capacity outdoor headline show in Stockholm.

Hold Your Head Up shows that the two artists are kindred spirits. Their two voices complement each other so well, with Albin’s grittier rasp and Savoretti’s brighter soul vocal both bringing a release of uplifting emotion. Backed by a similarly warm production, full of classic live instrumentation and flourishes of brass, Hold Your Head Up provides a heartening tonic for the kind of days on which the world’s challenges get you down.

Of the new tune Albin says: “Hold Your Head Up is a song about an appeal to your loved one, not to drown. The only way they can swim is by themselves.” Savoretti adds: “I had not met Albin before working on this track, I absolutely loved the song and that brought me to discover more of his work. Like me you can hear the English/ American influences mixed in with our European musical heritage. I’m hearing more and more of that and it’s great.”

Hold Your Head Up was written by Albin and Jack with the track’s producer Eg White (Adele, Florence + The Machine) and follows When You’re Here and Forget About Us’ in previewing Meldau’s eagerly awaited new English-language album, which was primarily produced by his good friend Eg White and Nick Lobel (Harry Styles, Sam Smith). The album positions the 35-year-old to make his biggest international impact to date, having previously earned numerous playlists at Radio 2 and further airplay courtesy of Elton John’s Rocket Hour. The half-English artist’s numerous achievements include a Swedish Grammy nomination, winning the MMETA and Anchor Awards at the Reeperbahn Festival, and recording a coveted Tiny Desk session for NPR.

Jack Savoretti has released seven albums so far, the most recent two of which – 2019’s Singing To Strangers and 2021-released Europiana – both shot straight #1 on the UK Official Albums chart. Savoretti’s reputation as a singer-songwriter is perfectly epitomised by the collaborators he attracts: a who’s who of music that includes international stars such as Bob Dylan, Kylie Minogue, Shania Twain, Nile Rodgers, Mika, James Blunt and Sigma. His storytelling songwriting takes you on a journey of emotions, his songs often simultaneously transportive, evocative and wistful.

Architects Give London’s O2 Arena So Much More Than Whiplash

The O2 Arena is dark. A rumble transforms into what sounds like an air raid siren. Bass drones stab through, in time with bars of light above and below the stage. Shimmers appear further back, casting shadows. Electro beats kick in. Suddenly, just for a moment, the lights and sound cut out; a deep breath before the synths of Elegy begin. Spotlights hit Sam Carter as he starts to sing, the rest of the stage still murky.

Wyatt Flores Brings Honest Heart And Sharp Style To London’s Roundhouse

On a crisp October night at London’s Roundhouse, Wyatt Flores stepped onto the stage to a roaring crowd, his name echoing around the vaulted room with a force that surprised even him. Supporting 49 Winchester on their UK run, the Oklahoma-born singer-songwriter might technically have been the opener, but from the reaction that greeted him, it was clear many had come just as much for Wyatt.
