Fresh from winning the BRIT Award Critics’ Choice, Jacob Alon has been announced for a landmark performance on the Waterfront Stage at Latitude Festival 2026 — becoming only the fourth musical artist ever to play the iconic floating platform.
Set against the lake at Henham Park in Suffolk, the Waterfront Stage is one of the most striking settings in the UK festival calendar. While it has hosted world-class productions from ballet and theatre companies over the years, music performances are exceptionally rare. Previous artists to take to the stage include Damon Albarn, Chilly Gonzales and Lang Lang — placing Alon in rarefied company.
Latitude returns to Henham Park from 23rd–26th July 2026 to celebrate its 20th anniversary, with Alon’s Waterfront appearance on Saturday 25th July set to be one of the defining moments of the milestone edition. The festival’s 2026 programme also features headline sets from David Byrne (in a UK festival exclusive), Lewis Capaldi and Teddy Swims, alongside performances from The Flaming Lips, The Last Dinner Party, Wet Leg, Self Esteem and Jalen Ngonda.

For Alon, the booking marks a remarkable ascent. Born and raised in Dunfermline, Fife, the singer-songwriter released their debut album In Limerence in May 2025 via Island Records/EMI. Produced by Dan Carey, the record secured nominations for both the Mercury Prize and the Scottish Album of the Year Award, cementing Alon’s reputation as one of the UK’s most compelling new voices.
Over the past year, their rise has accelerated at pace: from a national television debut on Later with Jools Holland to a performance on The Graham Norton Show, while support slots with Florence and the Machine have introduced their emotionally raw songwriting to ever-expanding audiences. In 2025, Alon performed at Latitude’s Sunrise Arena, drawing one of the weekend’s most rapt crowds — making the progression to the Waterfront Stage a poetic full-circle moment.
Blending the intimacy of stripped-back folk with the theatricality and flair of modern pop, Alon’s music carries echoes of artists such as Adrianne Lenker, Nick Drake and Rufus Wainwright, yet resists easy categorisation. What binds their work together is a fearless emotional honesty and a voice capable of silencing a field in seconds.
Latitude’s Waterfront Stage — where performers appear to rise from the lake as audiences watch from the grassy banks — provides an appropriately dramatic backdrop for the next chapter in Jacob Alon’s extraordinary journey.
