Blending his signature mix of indie, Americana and bluesy rock, Green Eyed Lady leans into a lighter, more playful energy. Built around a rolling rhythm and Roper’s gritty, soulful vocal, the track channels a vintage warmth reminiscent of classic soul recordings, while still feeling rooted in his modern, narrative-driven songwriting style.

Lyrically, the song balances humour and heartache, drawing from a surreal teenage dream that resurfaced during a difficult moment in his life. “The memory of that dream popped into my head and made me smile,” Roper explains. “I figured I’d preserve it in a song.” Written during a stop in Germany while on tour, the track captures a fleeting sense of escapism against the backdrop of personal upheaval.

Produced by Gus van Go, the single continues to build anticipation for Daisy Wake Up, which will also feature recent releases I Love You Man and Sweet Little Caroline, alongside new material yet to be revealed. Across the EP, Roper further refines his ability to weave vivid, often eccentric stories drawn from love, loss and life on the road.

Often compared to artists such as Leon Bridges and Alabama Shakes, Roper has steadily built a global audience, amassing tens of millions of streams and earning recognition for his engaging live performances. His growing presence in the UK has also seen him connect with new listeners, further expanding his reach beyond North America.

With Daisy Wake Up on the horizon, Green Eyed Lady highlights Jesse Roper’s knack for turning personal moments into colourful, infectious songs — equal parts reflective and entertaining.
