Blending country grit, trap beats, and alt-pop balladry, the new track leans into Murph’s fearless songwriting, exploring the thorny dynamics of falling for someone you know isn’t good for you. Her vocals cut through the minimalist, haunting production with the emotional weight that has come to define her genre-defying rise. “Bad As The Rest is about knowing the risk but jumping anyway,” Murph says, “because sometimes the heart doesn’t care what the head knows.”

Following the Billboard-charting singles Blue Strips (#15) and Touch Me Like A Gangster (#56), Sex Hysteria promises to be Jessie’s most ambitious project yet. Spanning 15 tracks, the album features Gucci Mane on Donuts and Lil Baby on Best Behavior, and dives deep into themes of sexuality, trauma, and self-discovery, marking a provocative evolution in her sound and storytelling.

A sharp departure from the introspective grit of her debut That Ain’t No Man That’s The Devil, Sex Hysteria channels Murph’s personal pain and complex experiences into powerful, defiant pop. Across the record, she unpacks the weight of generational trauma, confronts societal shame around female desire and expression, and refuses to be quiet about the things women are often told to suppress.

Visually, Murph leans into bold contrast — the album’s cover features her styled as a 1960s femme fatale in a striking beehive, challenging outdated ideas of femininity while baring her most unfiltered truths within.

To support the release, Jessie Murph will hit the road on her Worldwide Hysteria Tour, her biggest international trek to date, covering the U.S., Europe, Australia, and New Zealand — including a run of UK and Ireland shows this October.
