KillerStar Unleash Live Version Of Glam-Rock Classic ‘Children Of The Revolution’ From Sold-Out 100 Club

by | Jun 20, 2025

KillerStar, the critically acclaimed outfit led by vocalist and guitarist Robert Fleming, have released a storming live rendition of T-Rex’s glam-rock anthem Children Of The Revolution, recorded during their sold-out shows at London’s legendary 100 Club earlier this year. The release is accompanied by a video capturing the electric energy of those special nights, featuring a band packed with legendary collaborators of the late David Bowie.

Originally performed as an encore following a rapturously received set of KillerStar originals, the band’s take on the T-Rex classic pays tribute not only to the glam era but also to the enduring spirit of musical reinvention. Fleming’s dynamic vocal delivery brings a fresh swagger to the track, backed by a powerhouse ensemble that includes some of Bowie’s most trusted sidemen.

Among the stellar line-up are guitarist Earl Slick (whose work with Bowie spans from Young Americans to Reality), keyboardist and psych-jazz innovator Mike Garson (a Bowie staple from Aladdin Sane onward), and drummer James Sedge, co-founder of KillerStar. Also taking the stage were bassist Mark Plati (co-producer of Earthling), guitarist Kevin Armstrong (Tin Machine), keyboardist Dom Beken (Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets), saxophonist Simon Bates (Elvis Costello), and powerhouse backing vocalists Gail Windrass and Simone Browne, whose combined credits include Elton John and Joss Stone.

“The atmosphere was electric for our two live shows at The 100 Club,” says Fleming. “They were special nights! After playing our set of original material, we thought it would be great to play an encore of this T-Rex classic. It was a thrill to have long-time David Bowie band members reunited on stage together for the KillerStar set and this tune.”

The band’s March shows came on the heels of their debut album and were partially captured on the acclaimed Live At The 100 Club release. Publications like RnR and Maggiore On Bowie lauded the performances, with the latter declaring, “These guys don’t just seem to be on fire, they are on fire.”

KillerStar are currently back in the studio working on their second album at London’s Metropolis Studios, with recording sessions once again featuring Earl Slick and Mike Garson, and this time under the guidance of producer Dave Eringa (Manic Street Preachers).

If the ferocious energy of Children Of The Revolution is anything to go by, the next chapter of KillerStar promises to be just as electrifying. Watch the live video and stream the single now.
