A decade after helping define the UK Afroswing movement, the East London artist returns with music that both honours the sound he helped create and pushes it into fresh territory. While his unmistakable melodic flow remains at the heart of the new material, How Many introduces a broader palette of Afrobeat and Dancehall influences, drawing inspiration from his Ghanaian and Dominican heritage.

Produced by GRAMMY®-winning Ghanaian producer Killbeatz, whose credits include work with Wizkid, Burna Boy and Ed Sheeran, How Many is a bright, feel-good anthem built around infectious percussion, Caribbean rhythms and Kojo Funds’ effortlessly laid-back delivery. Lyrically, the track focuses on gratitude, encouraging listeners to appreciate life’s blessings rather than dwell on its challenges.

Funds describes the single as “a vibrant ode to gratitude,” adding that it is intended to remind people to savour life’s precious moments and recognise the abundance found in everyday experiences.

The new track follows last month’s comeback single Ready, which reintroduced Funds’ trademark blend of Afroswing grooves and melodic hooks while hinting at the broader musical direction of the upcoming EP. Together, the two songs suggest that HELLO IT’S ME AGAIN will balance the familiar sound that established his reputation with a more expansive, globally influenced production style.

The six-track EP is also a reflective project, arriving as Kojo Funds celebrates ten years since emerging as one of the architects of the UK Afroswing scene. Its themes centre on perseverance, gratitude and personal growth, documenting both the obstacles overcome and the support that has sustained his career throughout the past decade.

Kojo Funds first broke through in 2016 with tracks including Dun Talkin featuring Abra Cadabra before cementing his place at the forefront of British urban music through collaborations such as Check with RAYE and Finders Keepers alongside Mabel. His debut album Golden Boy further established him as one of the defining voices of the genre, helping shape a distinctly British fusion of Afrobeats, dancehall, hip-hop and UK rap.

Despite shifts in the musical landscape, Funds has remained a consistent presence, amassing more than 500 million Spotify streams and maintaining an audience of over one million monthly listeners. With HELLO IT’S ME AGAIN, he looks set to remind audiences why he remains one of the most influential figures in Afroswing while showcasing the continued evolution of his sound.
