Lewis Capaldi continues his powerful return with the release of Stay Love, a poignant new addition to his latest Survive EP, further cementing his reputation as one of the most emotionally resonant voices in modern pop.
Debuted in unforgettable fashion, the track was first performed during a surprise pop-up show at New York’s Penn Station, where Capaldi transformed a busy commuter hub into an impromptu live venue before bringing the song to a sold-out headline performance at Madison Square Garden later that same day.
Stay Love is a stripped-back, piano-led ballad that finds Capaldi at his most vulnerable. Built around his signature raw vocal delivery, the song explores themes of companionship and perseverance, offering a tender plea for connection in uncertain times. Produced by The Monsters & Strangerz alongside Michael Pollack, the track expands the Survive EP into a five-song collection, deepening its emotional scope.
The EP has already marked a major milestone in Capaldi’s career, with its title track securing another UK number one and reinforcing his place among the country’s most successful chart artists. Rather than reinventing his sound, this new era sees Capaldi leaning further into the honesty and emotional clarity that first propelled him to global success.
Beyond the music, Capaldi’s recent New York performance also paid tribute to his early career roots. Inviting staff from the now-closed Rockwood Music Hall to his Madison Square Garden show, he also made a donation to the National Independent Venue Association, highlighting the importance of grassroots venues in nurturing emerging talent.
With momentum building, Capaldi is now set to take on his biggest UK and Ireland shows to date this summer, including two massive nights at Hyde Park as part of BST Hyde Park as well as a headline performance at Suffolk’s Latitude Festival.
