Serving as the album’s opening track, Sucker For A Sad Song showcases everything that has made Little Big Town one of country music’s most enduring vocal groups. Their trademark four-part harmonies intertwine effortlessly with Monroe’s unmistakable voice, creating a warm, understated performance that blends classic country storytelling with a relaxed, soulful groove.

Written by Karen Fairchild alongside Ashley Monroe and Shelby Lynne, the track explores the irresistible pull of melancholy through clever lyricism and understated swagger. Rather than wallowing in heartbreak, it embraces the bittersweet comfort that only a truly great sad song can provide, delivering a timeless slice of country songwriting.

The accompanying music video, directed by Becky Fluke, complements the song’s intimate atmosphere, placing the focus squarely on the chemistry between the performers and the emotion at the heart of the composition.

The single is the latest taste of It’s A Dying Art, Little Big Town’s highly anticipated new studio album. Co-produced by Karen Fairchild alongside two-time GRAMMY® Award-winning producer ®, the record promises to celebrate authentic musicianship and the imperfections that make great records feel genuinely human. Across thirteen tracks, the quartet continue to explore themes of love, loss, resilience and connection through richly layered harmonies and deeply personal storytelling.

The album also features an impressive list of collaborators, including Jason Isbell on The Door and Kelsea Ballerini on Closing Time, further highlighting the band’s collaborative spirit after more than two decades together.

Since forming over 25 years ago, Little Big Town have become one of modern country music’s defining acts, collecting multiple GRAMMY® Awards and crafting a catalogue filled with crossover hits including Pontoon, Girl Crush, Better Man and Boondocks. Their ability to balance commercial success with thoughtful songwriting has earned them a reputation as one of Nashville’s most respected groups, and It’s A Dying Art looks set to continue that tradition.
