Nova Scotia Trio The Boojums Announce Debut Album And Release First Single ‘Wings Of Fire’

by | Aug 22, 2025

Nova Scotia rock trio The Boojums have announced details of their self-titled debut album, set for release on 31st October via Having Fun Records, a new imprint of Toronto’s We Are Busy Bodies. The first taste of the record arrives with lead single Wings Of Fire, out now.

Formed in late 2024, The Boojums quickly caught attention with their fuzzed-out, DIY live VHS uploads on Reddit, Instagram, and YouTube. Their sound leans on the grit of garage rock, the anthemic punch of ‘70s arena rock, and the melodic immediacy of power-pop, carving out a style that’s both nostalgic and fresh.

Recorded live off the floor, the album promises to capture the trio’s raw intensity while exploring themes of small-town escape, personal reckoning, and the pursuit of freedom.

Wings Of Fire is about chasing something bigger before it disappears in the rearview,” explains guitarist and vocalist Willie Stratton. “It’s that feeling when you’re flying down the highway—gold on your engine, nothing but dreams in the tank, and someone you love in the passenger seat.”

With Stratton’s wailing vocals, Sara Johnston’s driving bass, and Patrick Murphy’s thunderous drums, The Boojums deliver a sound that hits as hard as it hooks. Fans will have the chance to experience it live at a string of upcoming shows across Canada, the UK, and Germany.

The Boojums’ self-titled debut album arrives 31st October. With its blend of snarling guitars, powerhouse rhythms, and unapologetically loud energy, the record marks the arrival of one of Atlantic Canada’s boldest new rock voices.
