Live: Blondie @ The Roundhouse

by | Jul 11, 2013

Blondie’s 2013 UK tour took them to Camden’s legendary The Roundhouse on 7 July and Kew The Music festival on 9 July. Imelda Michalczyk went along to photograph for Rockshot and Rebeladelica

The band were promoting their new album Panic of Girls. Opening both times with One Way Or Another and mixing up old classics such as Heart Of Glass, Dreaming and Atomic with new songs such as Drag You Around and What I Heard, they transformed what could otherwise be simply a nostalgia trip into a forceful show by a still creative act.

The current line up includes original Blondie members Chris Stein (guitar) and Clem Burke (drums) and, of course, Debbie Harry on vocals.

The Roundhouse restricted photographers to its balcony at the back of the venue and to only one and a half songs, making it a tough shoot.

Kew The Music allowed photographers to shoot from the crowd a little way back from the stage, with the summertime daylight aiding the distance restrictions.
